I don't see any change 5 days post erbium laser treatment for orange peel skin and wrinkles, what do I do?

My mouth, eyes and chin were treated.  Is it not immediate difference in texture of skin after the erbium laser has taken of top layers of skin as I have very little sloughing going on and my skin looks the same as before its 5 days now and my wrinkles look the same as before and I still have horrible texture on my chin.

This is much to early for you to see the final result of your laser. If you are unsatisfied after a few months (3-6), then additional treatments could be considered. A CO2 laser is a more powerful skin resurfacing laser option for you.

It is difficult to counsel you without seeing before and after results.  I would caution you that you need to wait about 6 months for the final results after any co2 or erbium resurfacing procedure.  The first 'hit' is an epidermal ablation that is seen in a few weeks and the second hit is the collagen fibrils reconstituting and allowing for a thicker dermal layer to form.  Hang in there and follow your post treatment protocol!

Hello,Just knowing you had an erbium laser treatment is not enough information to accurately answer.Pictures would also help, but Ablative CO2 laser resurfacing is un-matched in providing more drastic results.  Dr. Malouf

I would definitely give it more time before making any quick judgments. Laser resurfacing can sometimes take up to 6 months to get it's full effect.  If after 6-8 weeks, you notice absolutely no results, you may consider a repeat treatment as some patients do need multiple treatments. I would also make sure to get your treatments from a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist.

If you have really deep wrinkles, the Erbium laser is not going to change those much. An Ablative Not low setting) CO2 laser or deep Chemical peel with Croton Oil or Phenol will give a better result, but with greater downtime.
