Question

They are caused by compression and I am developing multiple lines I'm only 41 and don't won't to look terrible when I'm older. They are on both sides and I develop lines whatever position I sleep in!

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Greetings,Laser therapy can be a great option for treatment of fine lines of the face (rhytids), but it is important to recognize that no single therapy is likely to be a miracle cure.  You might need a combination of lasers, skin care, and possible botox or filler injections to achieve maximum improvement.  Good luck!

Thank you for your question. I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine the right laser that fits your desired outcome, recovery process and skin type. There are skin resurfacing processes with and without the laser, with options like microdermabrasion, radiofrequency treatment, blue light, dermabrasion and chemical peels that will create a more youthful look.

Thanks for your question. From your photo it is hard to tell if you are talking about the superficial wrinkles by your eye, or the contour changes further down in your cheek. Wrinkles around your eyes are treated first with botox and second by laser resurfacing if needed.  Midface (cheek) contour problems can be treated in some cases with filler contouring and in other cases with small surgical procedures. Warm regards.

Resurfacing can help improve the lines around the eyes. Dysport or Botox is something you can do for maintenance. This product will prevent you from creating more crow's feet. It's best to have an in person consultation to discuss the different options for your skin.

Laser resurfacing (CO2 or Erbium) will help those lines, but a combination of resurfacing, volume restoration (fat or fillers) and inhibitors such as Botox or Dysport may be needed.  The "sleep lines" as I call them, can occur on the forehead, by the nose, or down the cheek and can be improved with treatments, then you also have to try to sleep on your back so they do not reform.  This is common problem for side sleepers and a difficult habit to break.  Good luck! -Dr. Jen

CO2 laser resurfacing of the skin will eliminate some wrinkles and tighten the skin. Dynamic wrinkles will not totally disappear - cosmetic botox would help suppress dynamic wrinkles (those with smiling). Ablative fractional CO2 will give you the best results - higher energies appropriate for particular skin type will give longer-lasting results. I prefer MiXto CO2 because of its Z-pattern hand-piece system. It may be delivered more comfortably by physicians familiar with use of topicals in combination with nerve blocks. Best wishes.
