I want to get a second fat transfer to my breast, and I was wondering how long should I wait. I did my first one six months ago. Can I do it now?

Hello, you could get a second transfer now.  We typically have our patients to wait a minimum of three months before their second session of Fat Transfer to ensure the fat from the previous transfer has had time to settle and acclimate, also giving you time to heal.

Yes, now would be a fine time to circle back for Round 2! The fat transfer typically settles by 4 months after surgery. The nice aspect to second surgery is that the fat from the first surgery will help you maintain even more fat the next time around.

Nobody knows the definitive answer to this. I would also base your decision on whether the first tanager worked well. The fat can resorb over a longer period of time than six months so you don’t really know what you have from the first procedure

Usually, we wait 6 months before the second transfer to allow the new transferred fat to settle and get good blood supply to survive. At 6 months, things are very stable.
