I had some fat grafting done behind both areolas to correct contour irregularities after gynecomastia surgery. One side looks exactly like I’d hoped; the other side lost more fat and doesn’t quite match the other one. Does a second round of fat grafting to the same area tend to be more successful because there’s already some fat in place? Is that a thing? Or is this just wishful/hopeful thinking on my part? I’m hoping to have a little more fat grafted to the deficient side soon.

Dear Dunkindo,
fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.

Yes, breast fat grafting is a viable option to help fill in this contour irregularities/depressions. I would also recommend an ultrasound to evaluate the implants and soft tissues. Some plastic surgeons have the ability to do this in office (ultrasound).
If the steroid dose is not too high, then the fat should live. if you are on a high dose, then postpone the transfer until you can come down or be off that high dose.
