Age: 36, Female, nonsmoker Weight: 160 lbs height: 5'3 Previous surgeries: I've had 2 c-sections and finished having children. I would like to get back to my pre pregnancy body. Any advice is appreciated! I would prefer a drainless procedure if possible.
Answer: Tummy vs. mini-tummy A tummy tuck is an operation designed to correct loose abdominal skin of the entire abdomen. The vast majority of the times the abdominal muscles are tied together and some liposuction is done to contour. A mini tummy tuck is more of a lower abdominal skin operation. Based on the pictures, you have a significant amount of lax in your entire abdomen. You have a very marked crease in your lower abdomen. If you were to try to “force “a mini tummy, tuck, would most likely end up abnormally low and additionally, you would not get a significant improvement in your upper abdominal loose skin. I would strongly recommend a full tummy tuck with reconstruction of the abdominal muscles, removal of all excess skin of the entire abdomen, as well as liposuction of the waist for contour.

Answer: What type of abdominal procedure would work best? Tummy tuck versus mini tummy tuck versus liposuction? You need a full tummy tuck, as do most women after full term pregnancy. Nothing short of this will give you the result you are looking for. Best wishes.

Answer: Full Tummy Tuck Thank you for your question. Based on your history (two C-sections, completed childbearing, and your goal to regain a pre-pregnancy body), the best procedure will likely be a full tummy tuck because you have loose skin both above and below the belly button, significant abdominal muscle separation from pregnancy, and stretch marks in the lower abdomen. Some surgeons offer a drainless tummy tuck by using progressive tension sutures to eliminate the need for surgical drains. Liposuction can be combined with full tummy tuck to enhance contouring, especially around the waistline. Consult a surgeon to assess your anatomy and discuss your preferences, including the drainless technique. They can recommend the best approach to help you achieve your desired results.

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear RMD88, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Tummy Tuck This is for informational purposes only. For medical advice or diagnosis, consult a professional. Unfortunately, I don't have enough information to determine which type of abdominal procedure would be best for you. The best way to determine which procedure is right for you is to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. They will be able to evaluate your individual needs and recommend the best course of action. Here are some factors that a plastic surgeon will consider when recommending a procedure: The amount of excess skin: If you have a significant amount of excess skin, a tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck may be the best option. The amount of excess fat: If you have a moderate amount of excess fat, liposuction may be the best option. The location of the excess skin and fat: If the excess skin and fat is concentrated in the lower abdomen, a mini tummy tuck may be the best option. If the excess skin and fat is distributed throughout the abdomen, a full tummy tuck may be the best option. Your goals: What are you hoping to achieve with the procedure? Are you looking to improve your appearance or your health? Your overall health: Are you a good candidate for surgery? Do you have any health conditions that could affect your recovery? Once you have consulted with a plastic surgeon, they will be able to give you a personalized recommendation for the best type of abdominal procedure for you. Here is some additional information about the different types of abdominal procedures: Tummy tuck: A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens the abdominal muscles. It is a good option for people who have a significant amount of excess skin and fat in the abdomen. Mini tummy tuck: A mini tummy tuck is a less invasive version of a full tummy tuck. It is a good option for people who have a smaller amount of excess skin and fat in the lower abdomen. Liposuction: Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat from the body. It is a good option for people who have a moderate amount of excess fat in the abdomen. Please keep in mind that this information is not a substitute for professional medical advice. It is important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your individual needs and goals.

Answer: Full Tummy Tuck Thank you for your question. I strongly recommend a full tummy tuck to remove excess skin from the entire abdominal area and tighten the muscle separation, which is common after multiple pregnancies, particularly with C-sections. Also, you can combine the tummy tuck with liposuction of the waist to enhance your overall body contour and create a more defined waistline. Liposuction alone removes fat and does not address skin laxity or muscle separation. A mini tummy tuck addresses excess skin below the belly button and does not tighten muscles or remove excess skin from the upper abdomen. This would not fully meet your goals of restoring your pre-pregnancy body.
