I'm 5'4, 113 lbs (same weight for the last 20 years), healthy female. I developed severe bloating 24/7 immediately post-op umbilical float with umbilical hernia repair and abdominoplasty. I also had breast implants (silicone 255 cc). I am a little over 1 year post op and still have severe bloating and was also diagnosed with SIBO. After 3 rounds of Rifaxamin (anti biotic), my symptoms have not improved. I was fine before surgery- what could be going on?

Answer: Abdomen Several things could be happening and some not related to surgery except that surgery was a stress and stress can trigger reactions. I would suggest being checked for food allergies and getting an abdominal CAT scan to check the hernia repair.

Answer: Bloating/SIBO Post Abdominoplasty Sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know what could have caused this bloating from a mini tummy tuck. The only things I can think of are..... 1) Possibly having caught the bowel with a stitch while repairing the hernia. 2) Developing adhesions of your bowel to each other or the abdominal wall, which can happen anytime the abdomen is opened. 3) Having left something in the abdomen. I assume your doctor has worked you up. Maybe a CT scan would be of help.
