It is certainly possible to have a slightly more refined nasal tip, but I agree with many of the other surgeons that the thickness of the skin will be a major limiting factor. It is difficult to definitively say how thick this tissue is without feeling it directly (you can get a sense of how much is soft tissue and where the tip cartilages begin), but from the photos it appears that your skin is on the moderately thicker side. Again, that does not mean you can't accomplish the goal of a more refined nasal tip, but it will most likely remain less refined than the model you have shown in the photo due to different skin thickness and bony-cartilagenous anatomy, among other differences. It is critical that you find a surgeon that can be up front and transparent about what can and can't be accomplished with surgery. Ideally you want to find someone who can perform honest and realistic photo simulations about what is achievable and see if these fit your goals. Best of luck!

It is certainly possible to have only the tip worked on during rhinoplasty. It can be made thinner while keeping it natural looking. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist that can do computer imaging at the same time so you can see how you like it.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I agree with your assessment and think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.
