Can I still have a tummy tuck while on h pylori treatment?

i just started a 4 med treatment today and my tummy tuck is in 8 days. I was diagnosed with h pylori yesterday. Will this treatment or diagnosis hurt me getting my tummy tuck?

While your gastrointestinal physiology is being addressed with medication I would advise against an abdominoplasty. The increased intra-abdominal pressure generated by this operation, although temporary, can increase problems reflux. Even if this is not a problem for you I would wait until your other gastric intestinal issues are behind you before proceeding with an operation that will temporarily of fact gastrointestinal physiology.

Hi Thoughtful3073.  I would strongly suggest that you discuss your recent diagnosis/treatment with your board certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your primary care physician will still clear you for surgery before the H Pylori resolves.  Your surgeon may want to postpone your surgery if you have ulcers or complications related to H Pylori.  I hope that this helps and please talk to your doctors.

I would suggest asking your medical doctor first, and then if approved, your surgeon. If you are taking this for ulcers, it would be best that your ulcers have healed before having the additional stress of surgery.
