How long does it take for the skin necrosis to heal completely? Will there be a big scar after the healing? (Photo)

Hello .I had a tummy tuck operation 30 days ago and I had developed skin necrosis at the sekond day of the operation.There is still crust on it but it started healing.Will it heal without leaving a scar?and if it does will there be a noticable scar?

This will definitely leave a scar but with proper care it may not be too bad. It takes about a year for the scar to mature, and after that time you can consider getting scar revision treatment. In the meantime, take care of it as your surgeon advises.

patients. Make sure that you are staying healthy and taking adequate amount of
protein and vitamins.You also should
avoid being around smokers as you are healing.This will take 6-8 weeks to heal and most likely you will require

Skin and fat necrosis after a tummy tuck can unfortunately occur. This will require close follow-up and treatment by your surgeon. It is very difficult to predict now how you will heal and often scar revision is necessary. When this problem occurs, you no longer have just a cosmetic problem, you now have a reconstructive surgery issue that involves removal of non-viable tissue, dressing changes and secondary wound healing, then once the scar tissue has softened, possibly scar revision.

Sorry this happened to you but it will eventually heal.   Please make sure you are not smoking or using nicotine patches and that you stay in close contact with your surgeon.   This will take 4-6 weeks to heal and may require a revision of the scar   Best to you

Sorry to see that happen as it is a rare complication in non-smokers.  It can take a few months for it heal completely.  There will most likely be a scar and it will probably be noticeable.  You may be able to have a revision a year after it heals.
