Hello , i had a Rhinoplasty a month ago and i have noticed that i have a hard ball inside my left nostril just under the columella like shown in the picture. It feels hard but at the same time when i massage like the dr. said it becomes a little softer. My doctor said that we cannot define what is it exactly only until most of the swollow is gone (4-6 months) I’m afraid that it’s a inclined cartilage or the implant that he put in there is out of the way.

Answer: Recovery after Rhinoplasty You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. It can take up a year for your final results. I hope this helps.

Answer: Rhinoplasty: Intranasal swelling Dear amalkh90, Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone. I recommend you seek continued regular followup with your surgeon who can perform a thorough evaluation and discuss with you the best treatment options to address your concerns. At one month out from surgery, you are still fairly early in the healing process. Swelling can take months to years to fully resolve. If this swelling continues to remain the same, your surgeon may consider measures such as steroid injection or possibly a revision surgery down the road to address suspected focal scar tissue or a displaced cartilage graft.
