I really want my belly to look flat and tone. Will a tummy tuck work for me? (photos)

It's difficult to make recommendations online based on the photos provide. So , I suggest you begin with an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgery to learn if you are a candidate for a surgical procedure. If deemed a candidate, you may benefit from a #drainless tummy tuck. Silicone #drainage tubes are used by trained Plastic Surgeons for many different operations.  The purpose is to drain extra fluid that may otherwise accumulate under the skin, fat or muscle following an operation.  Patients generally find this annoying and uncomfortable and they can impede mobility and therefore slow aspects of #healing. Over the years, surgeons have improved procedures and found ways to eliminate the need for these #drains in a variety of operations; including #tummy #tuck or #abdominoplasty.
I have found that most of my patients do very well with the exception of those have large areas of liposuction or lipo-abdominoplasty.  I may use drains on a case by case basis for these patients. A newer option now can include the use of tissue #glue to adhere the abdominal #skin to the #muscle; eliminating any space that previously required a drain.

Exercise and diet are good for your health, however to get rid of loose skin, excess fat deposits and tighten separated muscles, a tummy tuck is the safest and most effective solution. You will probably need a full tummy tuck. If you no longer want to have anymore children then please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an assessment of your concerns.

Though this would require an in person exam for a definitive answer, I think that a tummy tuck is a great solution for you.  This is something that we do frequently in our Albany,NY office, and has become increasingly common.There are many changes that happen to a women's belly after pregnancy that can't be corrected with diet and exercise alone. The skin becomes stretched out and the muscles become lax. This creates loose, hanging skin and the lower belly pooch that hangs over your pants. In many cases, there are also some areas of unwanted fat that never seem to go away.  Tummy tucks are great for tightening the skin and muscles. Liposuction is great for removing areas of unwanted fat.  Most times, we combine the two to give the best results. You're a perfect candidate for a full or extended Tummy tuck with a very low incision in order to get rid of the saggy skin on your abdomen and the extension will help to remove skin on your side and avoid dog ears. Thank you for your question and photo.  I definetly think that a tummy tuck can help improve the appearance of your abdomen and allow you to wear shorter tops and other clothes that you desire.  I would recommend  that you get as close to your ideal body weght as possible and consider holding off unless you are sure that you are not planning anymore children.  I would recommend a standard abdominoplasty with muscle tightening and  some flank liposuction.  Your scar may need to be continued far out onto your sides depending on your skin laxity (looseness).  Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure  you have all of your questions answered.  Good luck.

Looking at your photos, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck.   This will eliminate the excess, overhanging skin and give you back a bathing suit ready body.  I think you may be happier if you also get liposuction at the same time.  This can help recreate a waistline and decrease love handles. Good Luck!
