Hi Polite546372, I think that 8 months is too soon after weight loss surgery to undergo body contouring procedures. You may continue to experience additional weight loss for the next few months. The best will be to wait to reach your goal weight, maintain that stable for approximately 6 months and then proceed with the skin removal surgery. Rushing to have the body contouring surgery before reaching that weight loss may lead to additional changes in your body and development of additional skin. Thanks for sharing.
After massive weight loss surgery, we usually recommend 18 months after surgery with 6 months of stable weight within ideal +/- 5 lbs. However, surgery can be done before the 18 month marker, but the outcome is less predictable as the body is still acclimating to the changes of massive weight loss. After a gastric sleeve, the weight loss occurs over a 12 – 24 month period. This period of time gives the skin the chance to tighten and adjust as the weight is lost. To qualify for a TT after weight loss, you must meet these criteria:Your weight has stabilized over a six month periodYou have no medical condition that can impair the healing processYou are a non-smokerYou have a positive outlook and realistic goals for the TT resultsYou are committed to proper nutrition, a fitness regimen, and a healthy lifestyleConsult via email or Skype with a board certified PS to determine the best path forward for you to achieve your end goals.
If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Dear Polite546372,Congrats on the weight loss! Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a tummy tuck, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for sharing your question. Assuming you are losing less than 1-2 pounds per month and have been at your goal weight for several months you may be a candidate. For most patients this takes approximately a year after VSG. Hope this helps.
After having a vertical sleeve gastrectomy you will want to wait until you have completed your weight loss, which can take a year or more. After that time you will want to be at or near your goal weight and have maintained that weight for about 6 months before considering surgery.
Weight is stable 8 months after vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Can I get a tummy tuck and BBL? Best if you weight for 1 year of stable weight after your sleeve surgery.
Most surgeon prefer that your weight has been stable for 5 to 6 months before body contouring surgery. Also, you need to make sure your protein levels are adequate for surgery.
Thanks for the question. In this regard, I recommend you a Mini Tummy Tuck to get a flat abdomen and waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour. Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Even though it may appear to pull up your thigh skin when you lift, it will not last long. A separate thigh lift could tighten you upper thighs, and there are a few variations of this lift depending upon how much excess skin you have. I would suggest discussing this option for a later procedure...

What an exciting time this must be for you! Typically, we encourage patients to do a tummy tuck first. This is a more invasive procedure, requires longer healing times, and is focused on your abdomen. The mindset behind this recommendation is that after your belly area is significantly flatter...
