I'm 5'9 and I weight 145 pounds. My body fat percentage is 26. I lost around 50 pounds in the last 5 years and, although I am healthy now and I'm mostly happy with my body, my belly area is not as tight as I would like. I work out 4 or 5 times per week and I have seen some improvements, but the lower belly and the area around the belly button are very problematic. Would I be a good candidate for a tummy tuck considering the amount of skin I have? Or can I correct the flaccidity with constant exercise?

Answer: Options Congratulations on your weight loss! It does not appear you have significant excess skin. You may be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck to improve the lower abdomen. Another option is BodyTite with Morpheus8 treatments. These procedures combine liposuction with skin tightening up to 40%. The procedure does not require a long scar nor general anesthesia. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Answer: Tummy tuck candidate If you have loose skin of your lower abdomen, then a tummy tuck may be right for you. An exam in person is the only way to confirm what's best for you. Exercise will not tighten the skin, although it may strengthen your abdominal muscles. There are several skin tightening devices available but their success depends on the quality of your skin. Consult with a few experienced plastic surgeons in person for a complete exam.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
