What procedure to have done to fix pixie ears after mid face lift and neck lift? (Photo)

Question

I had a neck lift and short scar mid face lift few years ago. I have always felt like a constant heavy pull on face and neck . I would like to have my pixie ears fixed and neck re-lifted. What procedures would be best to fix this? Thank you

I understand your concerns and there is a solution to them both. To correct the pixie ears, it is a fairly simple procedure that can be done under local anesthesia in the office. It involves reducing the earlobe away from the face so that it hangs the way a natural earlobe would hang. To correct the concern with the neck I would recommend a platysmaplasty for you as it appears that the platysma muscles need to be tightened in order to achieve your desired results from the neck lift. If only the skin was elevated, we can see why it has not lasted as long as a procedure where work is being done to the muscle itself. My approach to a neck lift is a deep plane method that allows for results that will last 8-10 years. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified experts to discuss your ideal aesthetic goals. This way, they can better assess your face and create an ideal treatment plan for you.

"A combination approach would give the most improvement. Nonsurgical options such as Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, and Ultherapy do well in combination for skin tightening, but the results are mild compared to surgical options.

I would recommend a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma) and InMode BodyTite to contour and tighten the chin and neck. A neck lift can be performed at the same time, if you're a good candidate. I suggest seeing a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist to develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. Isn’t it amazing how many plastic surgeons create these pixie ear deformities?  They are easy to avoid if you know how. Fixing them is also pretty simple but the portion of the facelift around the ear needs to be redone for it to work. Don’t feel too bad. It also happened to President Biden, Paul Simon and other celebrities. When I show patients that they say “ these people are rich. They could go to any plastic surgeon they want!” Lesson is that the most famous and expensive plastic surgeons aren’t always the best.

Your earlobes can be released from the scar that is pulling them down, which will treat your pixie ear situation. You can have your face lifted at the same time, and will want to do so, as your skin will need to be moved up to correct your earlobes. In order to fix the pixie ears and placed the previous incision in a more cosmetic fashion to make it minimally detectable around the ears, at least another mini lift is going to be required. If you're trying to rejuvenate the neck as well, then a lower face and neck lift will be required. Choose your second surgeon  wisely based on producing very natural results.
