Dr. Costa is one in a million!! Dr. Costa works with great care and she’s acutely precise bringing about an amazing result. After having a large hole from a mohs procedure she managed to repair my face without patches. She’s Professional, compassionate and an amazing surgeon!

Dr. Costa expertly repaired my torn earlobe. She made me feel comfortable and calm throughout the whole process, and I am so happy with my results: it looks just like my other ear with very minimal scarring. In addition, all her staff are very caring and professional, and the office is beautifully maintained.

I have been dealing with breast issues since I was a teenager. Starting at 18 I sought out care for my severely asymmetrical tuberous breast deformity. I had 3 operations with a doctor who has since retired and now at 25, I needed some additional help. From weight fluctuations my skin was sagging on the right breast, causing the breast to look rippled. Additionally, due to the nature of my issue the skin and the breast tissue tends to be thinner. Upon visiting Dr. Costa's office I immediately knew she was awesome. She quickly recommended we move my implants from above the muscle to below to create an additionally barrier and protect the tissue I do have. Also, my first surgeon was a male doctor and while he helped me tremendously, Dr. Costa has been so much more mindful about not just the appearance of the breast but MY longevity and comfort. With my deformity, it is important to take things slowly and she gets that - she is such an artist and understanding of the process of healing, especially in my case. After the first surgery, while I was sore, even after the first day or two, you couldn't even tell I had surgery. She was so gentle and careful with me! Plus she is so mindful about scarring! She really knows what she is talking about. From personal experience, I know with asymmetrical and/or tuberous breasts it can be intimidating finding a doctor who has experience. Not only does Dr. Costa understand the struggle of this deformity but she perfectly knows how to address it - I can't recommend her enough.

I have always wanted fillers for facial balancing and I finally made the appointment with Dr.Costa! It’s a scary experience, especially when it comes to your face. Dr.Costa was gentle and made all my worries go away when we started the procedure. It was fast and effortless in her technique and I am extremely impressed with my results. She has made me feel more confident in my own skin and I can’t thank her enough!

I did my research, and decided I was a good candidate for Kybella because my “submental fat is more genetic, than weight-related.” I have been wanting to do this for myself for many years and decided it was time!
I asked my friends for referrals, made some calls, and set up a consult with Dr. Costa. I arrived at my consultation, nervous, but quickly felt at ease when I opened the doors to the doctors San Jose-Los Gatos border medical offices. Her office felt spa-like and sparkly clean. What’s not to love!
I was a little anxious about being a suitable candidate, and even more anxious by what I read, and was told. Being poked over and over with needles under my chin, was not appealing. I’ll share more of this below!
The woman staffing Dr. Costa’s sparkly white front office check-in desk, sweetly greeted me, checked me in, and I was swiftly escorted to a beautiful treatment room, and shortly thereafter the very petite and unassuming Dr. Costa appeared, and quickly eased all my anxiety. While examining me, she shared her thoughts, and I was in fact a perfect Kybella candidate. And we got started!
She took a series of before photos, applied numbing cream under my chin and handed me ice packs I held up under my chin, and 30 minutes or so later was, she was applying a temporary-tattoo dot grid; the map of my injection sites, and minutes later, she was done. I barely felt a single poke. “Is that it? When does it start?”
She administered a full syringe of Kybella, which I think was around 40 pokes! Though there were many, the shots themselves only took a matter of minutes. We immediately applied ice packs and was done with treatment number 1.
Dr. Costa recommended I do 1, or even 2 more treatments, approximately four weeks apart. I booked treatment number 2 and was on my way. I instructed to drink 8 ounces of water, every few hours, to flush my system. I booked treatment number 2 and was on my way.
My chin felt sore a few hours after my injections. As predicated, the injection area started puffing up like a bullfrog. Yes, a bullfrog! Which according to my research meant the treatment was working. I slept with my head propped up on my pillows and took a combination of acetaminophen and ibuprofen for pain. Swelling peaked about 24 hours after treatment and lasted for 3 or 4 days. I work from home, so I could hide out! It took me about three weeks, and I started to see results, and I was ready for the next treatment.
I was told the process could be slow, with results taking weeks or months. This can be discouraging, especially for those of us who are self-conscious about our chins to begin with. The good news is that the experts say those fat cells are not coming back.
I subsequently followed up four weeks later with treatment number 2 and another four weeks later with treatment number 3. I haven’t fully seen my results, but I do notice a dramatic difference and improvement, and I looking forward to even more.
I cannot say enough about my experience with Kybella, and with Dr. Costa and her offices. Absolute professionals, super communicative and informative, and it sure doesn’t hurt to have non-surgical treatments by a specialized facial plastic surgeon. Bonus!

All my life I have been plagued with endless ear jokes from family and friends. My ears would stick out like Alfalfa from Little Rascals. This is no longer the case. After a few hours of surgery, I am very happy with my transformation.

I was reticent about undergoing surgery in general. During the consultation, Dr. Costa took the time to explain the procedure in detail and help reduce my worry. After a few hours of surgery and a few days post-op, I do not know why I had not done this before. I feel great because my ears look great and I can blend in with the crowd. 

After consultations with other surgeons, I chose Dr. Costa based on her expertise, educational background, and ease that I felt coming out of her office. That was very important to me. Going with Dr. Costa for my otoplasty was a great decision on my behalf

I am so happy with the results of my surgery with Dr. Melinda Costa. She really listened to my concerns and what I wanted to achieve during our consultation. Dr. Costa put me at ease throughout the entire process. She walked me through the process and was there to answer all of my questions. I felt really comfortable going into surgery with Dr. Costa. I had a rhinoplasty and my nose looks so much better and still really natural. She is a real artist, she draws faces and they look amazing. This talent carries over to her surgery. Go to her!
