I am 2 weeks post op from breast augmentation and hate them (Photo)

Question

Hi I’m so sad about my breast augmentation I am 2 weeks post op and one is bigger then other and I have pain under my arm pit and other is fine but insishion is higher then the other they look just so ugly :( I don’t know if it’s somehing I did wrong I drive my daughter to school each morning and I don’t know it it’s ok but I started sleeping on my side at week one and my doctor said it’s ok but I read it’s not

It’s unfortunate you’re unhappy with your results. Typically, it can take 6 months or so for the implants to settle into their intended position. At that time, your optimal results should appear. The scars may take up to a year to mature as well. You may want to wait to see if you like your results at that time. However, you can consider speaking with your surgeon about the pain you’re experiencing as this may be a concern.

Hello! Thank you for your question! You are still early post-procedure. Your appearance looks typical at this stage and will continue to improve as the swelling subsides and the implants continue to settle into their desired position. This usually proceeds over the next several weeks as the lower pole skin/breast stretches to accommodate the implants. Follow-up closely with your surgeon for additional restrictions/instructions and the potential use of bras/garments or massage that may encourage the implant to settle appropriately.  It is likely nothing that you did or did not do at this time, but rather an expected swelling and normal outcome this early after your procedure. I would await final result, which typically occurs over the next couple more months as the swelling resolves and implants settle.  Hope that this helps! Thank you for your question and I am sorry that you are not happy with your current result.  Remember that after placement of implants your overall appearance will change dramatically over the next several months as the implants drop and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume.  It appears that one of your implants has started to settle while the other is still held high and wide against your chest due to swelling.  This asymmetry is not uncommon and improves as your results mature.  I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and for attaching a photo. It is difficult to access without your before photos. This being said, at two weeks you are very early in your recovery. It takes time for the implants to settle and things to take on a better look. It does not appear you have done anything wrong, you are just healing. Your beat resource is your surgeon. Best of luck.

You didn't do anything wrong. You are early in your healing. At 2 weeks you are about 10 percent settled, shaped, softened, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. 
Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then.

Healing after plastic surgery is a process and the earlier parts are the most challenging.  Emotions are a big part of the process as well. You're still in the early stage of healing, try to be patient and wait until your final results are showing. It takes around 3 months before the final results settle in. Dear jackiem24,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 14 days  post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. It is going to take time for the implants to settle into their final position and that will likely take several weeks to months before you know the final results from your breast augmentation.
