I'm considering neck liposuction, but I'm not sure if it would give me the jawline I'm looking for. I also have a horrible fat padding next to my cheeks when I smile, and I don't know how to address that. Do I also need a chin implant? My BMI is 20.3 and I'm 23 years old. I have a consultation scheduled, but I'm curious what others have to say in the meantime.
Answer: I have a chin that goes straight into my neck with no jaw definition. What procedure would help me with my turtle-neck? (Photo) Hello, thank you for your question. It seems like you can benefit from a chin liposuction, I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Chin liposuction Dear cloverleaf07, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from chin liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Chin Liposuction: Surgery Options --- Thuy-Van Tina Ho, MD Dear cloverleaf07,Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone and without an exam. I recommend you seek in-person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who can perform a thorough evaluation and discuss with you surgical treatment options to address your goals. For facial and jawline contouring, you may be a candidate for some or all of the following surgical procedures: buccal fat removal, chin implant, and chin liposuction versus deep plane mini necklift. You could also achieve some of your goals with non-surgical treatments such as Kybella. Botox to the masseters, and filler injection. Best,Thuy-Van Tina Ho, MDFacial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: I have a chin that goes straight into my neck with no jaw definition From the 1 very limited photograph, it appears that there is a recessive chin profile and fat deposits in the neck located above AND below the platysma muscle. Consider placement of a chin implant and a neck lift procedure. Liposuction can only accomplish removal of fat deposits above the muscle, while surgical extraction of the fat deposits is required below the platysma muscle which also includes a platysma -plasty. No skin removal is required. A chin implant can be inserted through the very same incision under the chin.

Answer: Chin and neck contour You have a lower jaw which is underdeveloped; so 'just' liposuction may be disappointing in its effect. You can have a more complete assessment, of course, but a chin surgery to 'extend' the distance from the neck to the chin point is needed to 'flatten' that area alongside the liposuction.
