Is having the webbing between my nose and eyes removed considered a nose job?

Thank your for your question.  Amanda Bynes had webbing along her medial eyelid called an epicanthal fold.  Surgery to changes this is a subtype of blephroplasty.  It is not rhinoplasty and would not be changed with nose surgery.  Both issues can certainly be addressed in the same surgery.  It doesn't matter as much what you want to call it as making sure you and your surgeon are on the same page and have a cohesive mutual plan.  If you are asking about this because of price, you can probably expect to pay a separate fee above what the surgeon would normally charge for rhinoplasty.  All the best!

 Removing the epicanthal fold and a rhinoplasty are 2 completely separate procedures. Removal of the epicanthal fold is usually performed at the time of eyelid surgery. The bump on the nose is composed of  both bone and cartilage and must be shaved down in order to remove it. Osteotomies of the nasal bones will be required to close the open roof created from the bump removal.

An epicanthoplasty would not be considered part of a rhinoplasty. While it can be done at the same time as the rhinoplasty it is a separate procedure.

These are two different procedures, the rhinoplasty only addresses the nose. The medial eyelid or epicanthal fold can be addressed by another small procedure similar to a blepharoplasty or z-plasty in some cases but the two anatomic sites are distinct. Good luck!

Thank you for your clinical post. A nose job would be performed on your
nasofacial balance and proportion and generally involves operations on the
bridge and tip of the nose. Your
descriptions from your inner aspect of the eye usually involve the medial
canthus and epicanthus. Medial canthoplasty
or epicanthoplasties are considered separate operations and should be
considered very carefully in the face of nose job surgery, but can be performed
at the same time or in a staged fashion at a later date.

Often it is wiser to change one aesthetic component of the
face to assess the nasofacial balance and proportion before operating on
another. The nose is essential and
elemental keystone to overall facial aesthetics and you may consider the inner
aspect of your eyes differently after reductive or augmentive rhinoplasty
surgery.
