I have fair skin, a childhood full of sunburns and now as a 39 year old I'm left with sunspots on my arms, chest, shoulders and face. I've done 3 separate bbl treatments. One on my chest, one on my arms and one of my face. The nurse was sweet enough to do a spot test on my shoulders too. I'm attaching pics and as you can see I think I need a series of treatments to see any progress. My arms and chest definitely reacted and got the "peppery" look for a few weeks after treatment. My face didn't respond but I believe the Medspa is going to redo that treatment as no brown spots seemed to react to the BBL laser.
From the reception/welcome team (Kyle in particular!) and the staff overall (Special shoutout to Lola and Isis), going to Skintology is a true pleasure and holistic experience. They’re thoughtful, ask questions and give you a clear action plan for your treatments. Highly recommended!
I don’t really mind my boobs right now, and I like the way they look naked. But I hate not being able to wear clothes that I think are cute because I can’t fill them out or it doesn’t fit right on me. I also have never worn a bikini due to being insecure about not having anything there. My best friends all have D cups, and I’m not saying I’m jealous but... I look incredibly flat walking next to them. Been wanting boobs for a long time, and now that I have the money for it I’m finally making it happen! I don’t want an obvious increase, so I’m looking at around the 250 cc range. I’ve got my pre-op appointment on the 11th, so I’ll try on some sizers and decide then. Stats: Height: 5’ 0” Weight: 105 Bra size: 32 A/AA Updated on 10 Apr 2019: I’ve attached some before pics and some wish pics. Been researching a lot and I came across the transaxillary incision option, which is through the armpit. I really don’t want scars on my boobs so I hope Dr. Phillips can make it happen (Dr. Phillips is the fellow surgeon under the mentorship of Dr. Walden, and I trust her completely). Definitely will have to make sure she has the correct expertise, or else I’ll need to do the intramammary fold incision or whatever it’s called, which is the most common technique. I’m also going to a rave the weekend after my surgery, so I’m hoping I heal enough within 4 days ????. I’ve read about the “rapid recovery” program that some surgeons employ, which aims to have you mostly healed within 2-3 days, so I’ll definitely ask about that during my pre-op. Updated on 10 Apr 2019: I’ve added some more before pics, excuse the bra marks I just got home from work. Pre-op is tomorrow! Updated on 11 Apr 2019: Today was my pre-op, and I met with my surgeon to finalize size and discuss the surgery. I also got weighed and found out I’m 110 lbs instead of 105. Haha, I haven’t weighed myself in 2 years so it’s good to know I’ve gained some weight! Initially Dr. Phillips said that 225 cc was the best fit for the dimensions of my breasts, but I did want something slightly bigger, so we’ve decided to up it to either 250 or 275 cc. I give her free reign on that decision as I think she has a very good understanding of the natural look. I also mentioned that I wanted the transaxillary option, but Dr. Phillips says that there has been literature about increased chances of capsular contracture and infection due to bacteria in the biofilm of the armpit and suggested against it. In that case, I’ll be doing the inframammary incision instead. Didn’t get to try on sizers but I did do the Vectra imaging with both the 250 and 275 cc options. I really can’t see a difference, so I told my surgeon to go 250. I hope I don’t get boob greed... I do like small boobs and think it’s better to go too small than too big, so I think I’ll be happy with my decision. I couldn’t ask for a better care team! They did an amazing job of answering my questions and explaining the procedure and recovery process. I was given a very detailed packet of what I will need to prepare for my surgery and what I’ll need to make recovery as smooth as possible. I’ll post another update of that list in a bit, mostly for my reference haha. STATS: BWD: 11.5 Height: 5’ 0” Weight: 110 lbs Implant: Mentor memory gel 250 cc mod plus, dual plane under the muscle Incision: inframammary Updated on 11 Apr 2019: To-Do: • Get prescriptions filled: scopolamine patch (for nausea), norco (narcotic pain reliever), Valium (muscle relaxant), phenergan (for nausea), Celebrex (anti-inflammatory), Keflex (antibiotic), colace (stool softener) • order bras (doctor suggested fruit of the loom front clasping bras, I attached a pic) • stock up on neosporin and 4x4 gauze • Prep bed for comfortable sleeping 2 days before surgery: • begin Celebrex, take one twice daily 1 day before surgery: • no food after 7 pm, no liquids after midnight •shower at night • begin colace Day of surgery: • wear loose clothing, button up and sweatpants preferred. • bring medications • bring the post op bras Updated on 22 Apr 2019: Only 9 hours left until surgery, so I wanna dedicate this post to my little bitties til they’re gone for good. I’m very excited for this new chapter, but I can’t help feeling nostalgic. Although I never loved my breasts, they’re the ones I’ve always had and I was kind of forced to accept them. But no matter how much I tried to be body positive, they were always a source of insecurity. I avoided wearing low cut tops and bikinis, and wore padded bras just to fill out some of my clothes. Needless to say, I’m ready for bras that actually fit and a more proportional body. Goodbye itty bitty [RS bleep]! Updated on 24 Apr 2019: STATS Height: 5’-0” Weight: 110 lbs BWD: 11.5 Before Bra Size: 32A/AA Implant: Mentor MemoryGel 225 cc Incision: inframammary (breast crease) Placement: below the muscle, dual-plane The actual surgery was yesterday morning at 8:30. The nurse met with me and took my vitals, a urine sample, and answered any lingering questions I might have. Shortly after, the anesthesiologist came into the room to place my IV needle. Once she left the room, Dr. Phillips came in to mark up measurements on my chest, including the dimensions of my breasts and the possible incision site and size. We discussed the implants again, and I told her, “I don’t care what volume we end up with, as long as it’s the most natural possible option”. I had been stressing about cc sizes for so long until I realized that I should leave it to the professional to get the best outcome as they have a lot more experience than I do. Once Dr. Phillips was satisfied with the mark ups, the anesthesiologist came in again to deliver the anesthesia and I was asleep within 5 minutes. When I woke up, I was feeling groggy and out of it, but other than that it was pretty painless. The nurse gave my sister post-op instructions, and before I knew it, I was home. I was in and out of consciousness for most of the day, and the pain never really got to more than a 2/10. If anything, my chest just felt tight every time I inhaled and sore if I move my arms too much. I used frozen peas quite a bit to reduce the swelling, which helped a lot with the soreness and tightness. As of today, I haven’t taken any medications besides the stool softener, muscle relaxant, and antibiotic. I was also able to sleep on my back without much problem, although the morning after, my chest did feel tighter than normal and I felt like I had to take big breaths to alleviate it. The bloating is pretty annoying, but I’ve been drinking lots of water to cleanse my system. One thing I noticed is that there’s quite a bit of swelling in the gap between my boobs. I’m sure this is normal as there’s bound to be swelling in and around the area, but do you ladies know when that’s expected to go down? I saw my implant card today and it looked like I ended up with 225 cc, which was Dr. Phillips’s original suggestion. I am very glad she chose that in the end because I was getting very anxious about the 250cc being too big for what I want, since I just wanted a very modest increase. I’m so excited to see how they’ll drop in the next few weeks! Updated on 29 Apr 2019: Today marks one week since the surgery and I couldn’t be happier with the results! As I mentioned in my last post, I didn’t have much pain and decided not to take any medications beyond the stool softener. I’ve been gently stretching my arms above my head to loosen up my pecs, and I think it’s helped a lot with muscle soreness and tightness. I did start to have more pain starting on the 4th day, mostly at the incision site (reaching a 5/10 on the pain scale), and it’s the most painful whenever I walk. I end up walking slightly hunched over and veeeery slowly. Weirdly enough, the pain is a lot less when I take off my support bra. I think I’ll only wear the support bra to work and to sleep, since going braless is a lot more comfortable and I think it helps the girls drop. Today was my first day back at work, and it was mostly business as usual. I’m at a desk 80% of the day so I was able to take it easy. No one noticed I had anything done, which was such a relief cuz that was the biggest thing I was really worried about. Driving was harder than I expected. I don’t have my full range of motion so I was essentially driving like a t-Rex with my arms by my armpit the whole time. STATS Height: 5’ 0” Weight: 110 lbs Implant: Mentor 225 cc Smooth Round Incision: Inframammary BWD: 11.5 Updated on 7 May 2019: So things have been going pretty smoothly, and the girls are getting softer and softer every day! My dominant side is my left, and you can tell in the pictures that that side is dropping faster. My right side is higher and harder than my left. I’ve been able to go through the day without any pain or weirdness, the only thing I can’t do yet is lean over. Overall, very happy with them! Updated on 14 May 2019: Nothing new to report, so I’ll just leave some update pics. I am able to lean over for a couple seconds without pain now, and I’ve started working out, but my lower body only (no lifting weights or anything involving upper body). Updated on 29 May 2019: Sorry I haven’t been updating guys, I received a message in my inbox about my body (unrelated to my BA) that made me uncomfortable, so I took down a couple pictures and uninstalled the app. I was going to stop posting all together but decided I should give an update since RealSelf has helped me a lot on MY own journey. So heres a recap of the last couple of weeks: Almost everything is back to normal. I’ve stopped wearing compressive bras except at night, and I’ve stopped bandaging my incision. I sometimes sleep on my side, but it isn’t 100% comfortable yet so I’ve been trying to lay on my back most nights. I also haven’t been able to do yoga yet, cuz I feel tightness in my pecs in the push up position or any inversion like downward dog. Although not technically cleared until week 6, I participated in bedroom activities, jumped around braless at a music festival, and worked out (legs only) without any complications. Absolutely nobody that saw my breasts (I wore pasties the whole day) at the festival knew that I had a boob job unless I told them, and most were shocked to learn i had implants since the size and shape looks pretty natural. My bedroom partners also only realized I had implants after seeing the incision, and didn’t think they felt unnatural. They are also starting to bounce, but not quite to the level of real boobs. Overall, I’m healing really well and I can’t wait for them to soften and drop some more. Updated on 11 Jan 2022: I’m back with an update! So far, loving and not regretting a single thing about my decision. I still continue to shock people when telling them I’ve had surgery because they always think its natural. They’ve gotten even softer and more natural looking, and shopping for clothes is soooo much easier and less stressful. I feel more confident in myself, don’t have to cover up my chest to hide my flatness, and don’t get mistaken for a kid anymore. I can also go to the gym and do yoga with no problems whatsoever, though there will be some tightness when doing chest workouts. Although it’s not as soft as natural boobs or don’t jiggle as much, it’s still soooo much better than the completely flat chest that I had and was so unhappy with. I hope my experience helps some of y’all out in your decisions, and remember that I chose this to make MYSELF happier and I don’t regret a single thing. Updated on 13 Jan 2022: I only put scar cream for like the first month and then got lazy lol. It honestly isn’t noticeable tho unless you pull your boobs up like I am in the photos or if you’re looking at them from a lower angle.
I survived pancreatic cancer, which resulted in my losing 150 lbs. Two super positive outcomes! With my upcoming 3rd cancer survivorship anniversary, having maintained my weight loss, and my husband passing away earlier this year, I decided to treat myself. An excellent surgeon and her equally phenomenal support team have turned yet another of my surgeries into a life-changer. I'm so full of gratitude. All I asked for was to fit into, and be comfortable in my Levis, without having to tuck in all my excess skin. Dr Walden has made me beautiful again.
I am still a little loopy as I write this. I just had surgery a few days ago. But this site has helped me so tremendously, I felt I need to share my story for others who may be considering a similar procedure. I had round saline implants put in when I was 20 years old. Back then silicone had been outlawed. I weighed 105 pounds (5'2") and my implants were 375 on one side and 390 on the other. They looked like ice cream scoops in the middle of my chest. But hey it was the 90s and that was the thing. Twenty years and two children later, I have gained 20 pounds, and gravity had taken it's toll. I really did not want a lift, because personally I thought I had the cutest nipples ever created by God. But… When they're pointing down at your knees, they're no longer so cute. Plus weighing 125 nstead of 105 took my breasts from a 32 D cup to a 34 G cup. They looked like tube socks with tennis balls inside. I was newly divorced, so I knew something had to be done. The thing that caused me to hesitate for so long was the lift...iI really didn't want the scars. But it got to the point where the sagginess and the size were worse than the potential scars. So I researched my options and decided to go with an explanation, a lift and a fat transfer. It's too early to tell the end result… But what I can say is this: my breasts hardly hurt at all. But my thighs, were they harvested the fat from, feel like they're on fire. I can hardly sit down on the toilet to pee. Even walking is hard. I highly recommend my doctor – Dr. Jennifer Walden in Austin Texas – but I will say she's a little stingy with the pain meds. I'm a redhead and any anesthesiologist knows that redheads need a little extra help with the pain control issue. Not only do we feel pain worse, but we have a natural resistance to all pain medications from lidocaine to opiates. Dentists seem to know this, but surgeons are still figuring it out I guess. Regardless to say… This hasn't been easy. I'm going to post my before photos as well as my day one and day three postop photos. So far I am absolutely loving the size and shape . My concern obviously is that the swelling will go down and some of the fat will be reabsorbed and I will need a second procedure. Fingers crossed. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I will update you more on my experience as time goes by. Updated on 17 Dec 2018: Still very bruised. But love the shape and size. Post op is tomorrow. I'll update soon. Using Xeroform gauze strips for now. Drains are the worst part. I think she used drains to keep fluid from collecting in the cavity where my implants were. She put 400 cc's in each breast. But sad maybe 30% will reabsorb. Updated on 21 Dec 2018: One areola looks bigger so I'm hoping that evens out. I still love the shape and size of breasts although I've definitely lost some volume. I'm sure from swelling. I had 2nd post op today and they have removed about half of the stitches so far. My thighs are still KILLING me. The lipo was by far the worst part. My ankles and legs are swelled up so bad I almost went to the emergency room but I didn't. It has resolved but I will post pictures. Also the bruising on my legs is horrendous!!. All in all though… My boobs look great. I'm just hoping they heal right. I start embrace therapy I n a couple weeks. Updated on 21 Dec 2018: Notice one areola bigger, thighs bruising and ankle swelling Updated on 22 Dec 2018: Concerned with areoles but from everything I've read I just need to be patient. Updated on 26 Dec 2018: Had my next post op appointment today. Everything is healing better than I expected! All stitches are finally out. Just a few steri-strips here ant there, but honestly only because I asked for them. Incision areas have Neosporin on them so that's why they're so shiny in photos. I still have quite a bit of bruising on the legs and quite a bit of pain as well. I am no longer on any type of pain medication. Tylenol does nothing and they told me not to use Advil so I've just been dealing with it. I'm very happy with the results so far. She did say that one areeola looked a little bigger, and if it was still that way in a few months they will correct it as a courtesy. I think it will be fine. I'm bruised all the way down to my ankles. The only areas that they did the liposuction was my thighs and a little from under my armpits. The doctor said bruising on lower legs was just gravity. Thank goodness it's December and not August so I can wear pants!! All in all I think they look really good. Updated on 29 Dec 2018: I don't even know what to write. I'm just happy with recovery. Everything is going so smoothly. The pain is pretty much almost gone. I don't even need Tylenol or Advil or anything. I have THIGH GAP !!!! I haven't seen light between my thighs in a decade!!! Obviously my nipple incisions and I'll incisions are still healing. But I couldn't be more pleased with my recovery. Updated on 14 Sep 2022: Still loving them!
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Jennifer Walden when I had my breast augmentation consult last week. She took her time with me to answer all my questions - (I came prepared with a lot of them because I was heavily weighing wether a fat transfer or implants would make most sense to accomplish my long-term goals and what would work best for my body). I felt extremely comfortable with her and after our consult, definitely trust her aesthetic and expert recommendations that were made. I'm so looking forward to my procedure and trust that anyone who has the opportunity to meet Dr. Walden face to face will have a similarly amazing experience as I did.
I Love coming to my appointments here. The people are courteous, professional and positive. I Love the results I receive from Kristin Gunn's expertise. It's a quick in and out procedure in a very comfortable atmosphere. Short of a magic wand I could not be happier (:
A friend recommended Kristin Gunn at Dr. Walden's office when I considered fillers. After a comfortable consultation, I felt sure Botox and Restylane were the best options for a natural and younger look. Now, I am a faithful follower and getting so many compliments.
Love them. Highly recommend. I go often for Botox with Kristin and I wouldn't go to anyone else. Very professional and can answer all your questions. They have the most up to date machines and techniques.
I had a Breast reduction and tummy tuck 14 weeks ago. This was a very tough surgery but my results are amazing!!!! The staff is phenomenal. I am a type 2 diabetic so was a high risk surgery but I had tried everything to reduce my belly fat with minimal results. Dr Walden did in one day what I could not do after 10 years at the gym. As icing on the cake, and nothing I had read about my A1C went from 6.1 pre surgery to 5.4 (NORMAL levels) 10 weeks after surgery. My Endocronologist was not surprised that my numbers improved but was shocked that my A1C came down that much and am no longer in diabetes range (A1C below 5.7 is normal). I have been on the max Metformin medication for 13 years and NEVER had an A1C this low. To say the least this was a bonus I was not expecting. The surgery has changed my life! My Endocronologist is monitoring me and expects to start reducing my medications!
ThermiSmooth is a component of the Thermi radiofrequency system that can help tighten the facial skin and lower lids. As well the user can make passes along the upper lid below the eyebrow (along the brow bone), which can help tighten the upper lid. We don't pass the handheld instrument directly over the thin lid skin directly overlying the globe of the eye (eyeball) because we don't want excessive thermal energy on this direct location. I have had this procedure done several times along my lower lid and periocular (around the eye) skin and really like its effect. Like many forms of RF for skin tightening, one may have to undergo several (3-4) treatments to achieve the best response. Also, those with more elastic skin respond better- older individuals with folds of eyelid skin may actually benefit more from a surgical blepharoplasty (with or without a browlift) to rejuvenate this area.
A female patient may undergo this procedure at age 18 but it would be best to go to someone who is familiar with performing a large volume of the surgery, as you will want her or his expertise and the support of their staff during the process. I have performed labiaplasty on select females who have the anatomical findings that cause discomfort and irritation, but under 18 but that requires the consent of a parent or guardian as well as the minor's own informed consent. Other criteria include being emotionally and physically mature to undergo a cosmetic surgical procedure as well as the ability to be compliant enough to adhere to follow up instructions and postoperative care needed for its success.
Sure, it is possible to place breast implants through a transaxillary incision after removing axillary breast tissue and/or fat. Whether the underarm tissue is denser breast tissue that needs direct excision (removal) or fat that can be liposuctioned for a better contour, this is do-able. I have done both prior to inserting breast implants through this type of incision and under the muscle. It actually facilitates, or makes the visualization and dissection to the lateral border of the pectoralis major muscle easier in my opinion, as it removes a layer of extra soft tissue that sits there on the way to the edge of the pectoralis muscle during the initial part of the transaxillary breast augmentation. Usually, it would not make the breast implants appear to sit wider apart, and would not impact the breast implants in that respect. Of course, I would recommend that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon so he or she can examine you, as everyone's anatomy is different.
After any surgery of the genital area be it labiaplasty, perineoplasty, or vaginal surgery, I generally recommend at least 8 weeks off of having sex, riding a bike, spin class, etc. One would risk tearing the repair with pain and bleeding if you tried to do a higher impact activity before the tissues have healed and strengthened. It's not worth taking the risk of tearing the work some surgeon did for you down there... plus it would hurt a lot and need to be repaired again, with some type of anesthesia usually. This can hinder your ultimate result and your healing time, and can become expensive for you, so be careful and follow your doctor's instructions for the specific procedure you have undergone. Alternatively, with nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation and tightening such as diVa vaginal laser and ThermiVa radiofrequency, you can usually have sex that night or the following day according to your specific issue and your doctor's instructions. Good luck.
In general it should be just fine to get Botox after your labiaplasty procedure. It you had some type of flu-like response to it last time, I would discuss that specifically with your doctor who administers the Botox to see if you should do it again, or perhaps switch to Dysport. It's pretty rare to have a reaction to either, some people just tolerate one better over the other, or one brand might be a bit more effective than the other. Good luck!
