Still not bruising a week after rhinoplasty?

Hello. If you haven't bruised in 5 days, chances are you wont bruise at all. Same is true for pain. The reason for you healing so fast may be that your surgeon did not have to do extensive work to achieve the desired results. And, or your body has a wonderful ability to heal itself quickly. So, lucky you. I hope you are happy with your surgical results.

Thank you for your question.  If you have no bruising 5 days after rhinoplasty, you will likely not get any.  I usually tell my patients that if we are doing osteotomies, they will likely get bruising.  If we don't do osteotomies, they will likely not get bruising.  It sounds like you are recovering very smoothly and hopefully get the nose you were hoping for! If you haven't bruised yet, it is unlikely that bruising will develop at this point.  I am glad that your postoperative recovery has gone well!

As they say, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth!" You might be that very rare patient who does not bruise. 

Thanks for your question. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. If you were going to bruise, I'd expect you to see some bruising by now. Is that normal? It just depends on what was done. Most of my patients only bruise a little bit, if at all. Regardless, enjoy your good fortune! Good luck and I hope you have a good result.

Depending on exactly what was done, there are degrees of bruising.  You didn't experience any!  Great!  It is not unusual for people not to bruise!

Everyone responds differently in respect to the amount of swelling or bruising they might encounter. I would not be concerned that you haven't bruised, you're quite lucky! Whenever you have any concerns, I'd suggest that you discuss them with your surgeon. It's good for them to know what you're experiencing and for you to get peace of mind.
