Four months post op from a breast lift and augmentation completed by Dr. Shenker. I am extremely happy with Dr. Shenker and his entire team. After breastfeeding three kids over a span of 4 years, my breasts were a little lifeless. During my first consultation, Dr. Shenker greeted me and performed my entire consultation, reviewing my goals of obtaining natural looking breasts. I felt completely comfortable and heard during the consultation. Fast forward to surgery day, I cant say enough great things about the entire administration, nursing, surgical and post op team. The nurses were comforting and walked me through each step, the anesthesiologist kept me calm and talking to me until I fell asleep. Upon waking up, the recovery nurse was right beside me, with Dr. Shenker checking in immediately after. My pain was managed, and Dr. Shenker brought me a much needed recovery coffee :) Later that evening, Dr. Shenker called to check in and review all post-op notes. The next day, nurse Lauren called to check in. Nurse Lauren was always a call or email away and no question or check in was too silly, she was always happy to see me if I had any concerns. Healing went smoothly, and I am beyond thrilled with my results. I chose Dr. Shenker for many reasons, one of those being his ongoing care. I look forward to seeing Dr. Shenker again for my regular biennial check-ins! If you are considering The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, I highly recommend!
I've now had 2 surgeries at The Cosmetic Surgery Center with Dr. Shenker with amazing results! I had stomach liposuction with BodyTite and neck liposuction with FaceTite. Not only do I really trust Dr. Shenker with my procedures, the environment and staff (from the Administrative, Nurses and Anesthesiologist) make the whole process so smooth and comfortable. Dr. Shenker makes me feel at ease and he and his team somehow get me laughing and so calm before surgery. They also make sure I am informed at every step, and no question is too dumb. When it comes to trust, it is not only of the Dr completing the procedures. I have asked Dr Shenker 2 x now for a Face Lift. At 45-years-old with my skin condition, he has told me to hold off as the results would be too minimal. I know many Doctors would do this more costly procedure for the money. If you are looking for an experienced Dr who has grace, skill, an amazing facility (where you feel you are in a beautiful home rather than a cold clinical feel), along with a top notch team, I know I am not going to be looking anywhere else.
OUTSTANDING Dr. Shenker's resume caught my attention first. After an in person consult it was easy to trust him knowing he cared about my health and his precision and of course his impeccable resume paved the way for this trust. His staff was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. I noticed a similar strive towards excellence between Dr. Shenker and his staff. Seemed like their common / uniting thread was this pristine excellence I kept seeing. It was inspiring. I just went in wanting a great tummy tuck, and what I received was inspiration to build my company's team with the same thread of excellence they have woven themselves with. Oh and I got a great tummy tuck out of it too!! It was a wonderful experience.
Dr. Shenker is the best and I would highly recommend him and his clinic to anyone considering taking the big step of having a surgical or nonsurgical procedure. From my consultation, I knew instantly that he was the right choice, he was honest, kind, knowledgeable and made me feel heard and comfortable. I can't say enough about the results of the surgery, Dr. Shenker, or his incredible team. Ashley, my patient coordinator answered all my emails quickly and never made me feel like any question was silly or bothersome. Ange, the OR nurse called me before the procedure to ease my nerves and let me know what to expect. The day of the surgery I was ready and excited, but also nervous, but Ange was so easy to talk to and even taking the "Before" pictures was fun. Dr. Nicholas, the anesthesiologist was very patient when he was going over my health history again and I felt reassured knowing he was looking after me while I was under. Dr. Shenker's energetic and happy attitude when he came in made me even more calm and assured, I was making the right choice. I got a little anxious when I was having the IV inserted, and I think it was Ange and Patti that distracted me by asking about where I'd travelled and my favorite tattoos, I really appreciated that. When I woke up, Adrienne was there for me, I felt great though- no pain, just a little shaky and disoriented. I even got all my compression garments and a gift bag with some cookies, coffee, and other treats. Dr. Shenker called me that night, not just to check in on me, but to remind me that he is there for me and let me know what to expect. My post op nurse Lauren called me 2 days later, she was great too, and on day 8 post op when I was worried about how I was healing, Adrienne answered my email at 11pm and it made a huge difference in how I felt- she let me send her a picture to ensure that everything was ok, and I was able to sleep soundly that night. I'd never had surgery before, but I went for quite a few consultations with surgeons in different areas, and I'm so glad I made it happen, and that I chose Dr. Shenker and his team at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. I just had my post op appointment, and Patti was amazing, she let me know that everything is healing well and looks fantastic (I agree) and that they are available to answer any questions I have, she encouraged me to keep in touch.
Dr Shenker and his staff at The Cosmedic Surgery Clinic make up an exceptional, caring team. I have a long history with this clinic and had no doubt that Dr Shenker was the best surgeon to perform my procedure and that he and his team would be the most skilled, kind, professional group I could wish for. I knew I could trust Dr Shenker’s opinion and his surgical skills to do the best possible work. I am a senior and have skin with poor elasticity so my expectations were not high. Having just completed the procedure this past week it is too soon to say if I believe I made the right decision, only time will tell, but it is not too soon to share how confident I am with Dr Shenker as my surgeon and how positive my experience was from the start. This includes booking my initial consult with receptionists who went the extra kilometre to expedite my first appointment, to my initial consult with Ashley the patient coordinator who answered all my initial questions with diligence and foresight, to my consultation with Dr Shenker who gave me his honest opinion about what my options were and what to expect. I chose my second ‘best’ option knowing I would not achieve the same results as with the first option but also knowing that whatever best positive outcome was possible would be achieved by Dr Shenker. During the procedure Dr Nicholas was open and educative about his role as Anesthesiologist and asked many good questions to make sure we both had as clear a picture as possible of my health and risks. Nurses Adrianne (who actually held my had during the procedure!) Ange and Patty were warm and friendly and made me feel relaxed and safe. So much so that I found myself conversing using a sense of humour I never knew I had and from what I can remember actually having fun in the OR! Nurse Lauren made herself readily available for my follow up and I was grateful to have such accessible nursing care whenever I needed it. It also says a lot that Dr Shenker called me at home the evening of the procedure to check-in with me and even share his personal cell number for me to be able to reach him after hours! A ‘shout out’ as well to office manager Heather, whom I’ve yet to meet, but who deserves kudos for her work with her team ‘behind the scenes’.Thanks everyone for all your support! The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic (Dr Shenker and team) is an absolute gem! With gratitudeC.
I went to Dr. Shenker for a breast augmentation and couldn’t be happier with the results! I grew to trust him very quickly and his thoughts and comments were both helpful and very insightful. My results were the best they could have been because of his expertise and experience. His office is a trusting and accepting environment, and they made me feel valued and valid when I was at my most vulnerable. His staff were also incredibly polite and professional. This was not my first surgical procedure but was by far my best experience. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely be returning. 10/10, would go under again.
I couldn’t possibly put into words how this clinic changed my life but I must because sharing my experience with such a wonderful team is important. From the very first phone call with Barb (Patient Coordinator) I knew that this was the place to be. Barb seriously guided me through something that was a little foreign and kind of scary, but did it in a way where I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. I met with Dr. Shenker via zoom to talk about my gynecomastia and I was immediately heard and understood. He took me through the step by step pre-op and post-op journey and I was fully on board by the end of the call. Dr. Shenker explained that his method is to leave the least amount of scarring possible. Instead of making an incision through the nipple (most clinics do with this type of surgery) they leave the nipple completely alone and the incision made is hardly noticeable. This was all 100% accurate and I’m walking proof of it. On the day of the surgery, the front desk ladies were incredibly kind and already knew who I was so I felt welcomed right away. I met Ange (OR. Manager) Dr. Paul Nicholas (Anesthesiologist) and Patti (Scrub Nurse) the dream team! They took such good care of me, I couldn’t have been in better hands. I was at one point shaking with fear but they did an incredible job of calming me down and reassured me that everything would be okay and it was! It was actually better than okay, it was Great! Post Operation/Healing is a bit tricky physically and emotionally but Lauren (Post-Op care Nurse) was a phone call away at all times! She actually would call me and ask how I was doing and feeling, constantly reassuring me that she was there to talk or to answer any of my questions. I called Lauren quite a few times during this period, I like to think that we go way back now.. lol! But in all seriousness these guys took such good care of me and I am forever thankful for team The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. I am currently Five months Post-Op and the results are absolutely incredible. My confidence is sky high. I used to be the most self conscious about my chest to the point where it would consume my thoughts but that isn’t even a thing anymore. Never a concern again thanks to Dr. Robert L. Shenker and the incredible team at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic! From the bottom of my heart, Thank you all. -Ben
Last Friday December 3rd I had my mommy makeover. This included a breast lift with fat grafting, and a tummy tuck. So here’s what happened. I travelled almost 2 hours to my appointment. I was dehydrated, which causes me to have migraines, and right after nurse Ange took my unflattering before surgery pics, I was on the bathroom floor in the dark christening there sparkly toilet. They did mention this has never occurred before. I guess there’s a first time for everything. Lol. Not once did they seem annoyed or feel they should rush me to hurry up so we could get the surgery started. Instead they helped with my head pain and they were all so patient and kind the whole time. They just wanted to make sure I was ok. This really helped me cause I was afraid they would be upset. But they were not bothered by this the slightest bit. As my head began to feel normal Dr. Shenker and Dr. Nicolas went over everything with me about the surgery. I did not feel nervous at all. All the nurses were so professional, always had a smile on their faces and made some funny jokes too. I really don’t think I have the words to describe how amazing they really truly are. When I was waking up, I remember the nurses coming to my side and checking to see how I am. I thought I was going to wake up in excruciating pain. But I did not feel one ounce of pain at all. Clearly the medication works. They had some juice and baby cookies for me for when I woke up and as soon as I was ready, they helped me sit at the side of the bed, and went through everything I needed to know in order to stand and walk for the next few days. The information I needed to get through this was relayed to my husband and was also on paper so there was no way I could forget anything. I arrived at the clinic at 8am and I was able to leave at 3:30pm that afternoon. They were also kind enough to give me a goodie bag for when I left. I do want to mention that I received a CD in the bag with some fantastic music that I believe are some local bands on it. I will be updating my progress as the time goes on and will be giving a shout out to these fabulous artists. When I got home Dr. Shenker called me that evening to see how I was doing. He is so kind and easy to talk too and is only concerned about how I’m doing and to make sure my husband didn’t eat the delicious cookie that was also in my goodie bag. I was nervous to look at myself when I was to shower the next day because I was afraid of what the bruising and stitches would look like. But again it was nothing horrible. At all. It was a lot better then seeing the scars and sagging skin from before. I instantly felt beautiful and confident, which I haven’t felt in 20 years. (I’m only 42. Babies came at a young age.) They have completely changed my life. It’s only been a week so far but I have never felt better. I’m excited to know I can wear clothes that will make me feel like a woman for once and not someone trying to hide behind my husbands big t shirts and pants. Thank you Ashley for the months of emails and phone calls that you were always so kind to answer right away. To the nurses Ange, Adrienne, Patti and Karen, thank you so much for being so kind, caring, patient, and understanding. I really hope you realize how truly special you all are. You really helped make a difference in my life. Dr. Nicolas, thank you for making me laugh and making sure I was safe while I was asleep during this surgery. And Dr. Shenker, you truly are a blessing, you have given me a reason to feel beautiful again. You really are an artist. I had no idea my body could heal so nicely. And nurse Lauren, I am excited to finally meet you next Friday for my follow up appointment. You have been so helpful and kind with my concerns this past week. I truly am so grateful for each and everyone of you. My husband has mentioned I’m more confident already. I didn’t think this could ever be possible. If there is anything more I can do to get across to others that you are the best choice then let me know. I can only give 5 stars on here, but I will be more then happy to cover myself with the other deserving stars and stand in front of the clinic in due time to show why you deserve the best rating possible. Lol. But in all seriousness, I am beyond grateful for all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Stay tuned for more to come. Don’t worry, I won’t be standing outside. Lol.
Dr. Shenker and his entire team were amazing throughout the entire process. I felt well informed of the risks and benefits of surgery, supported by all the nurses whenever I had questions, and the facility was beautiful and comfortable. I was able to book my surgery within a couple months of my initial consult and am now 3 months post "Mommy Makeover" surgery. After having two children, no amount of exercise would give me the full breast I wanted, nor get rid of the extra fat and skin on my tummy. I felt comfortable immediately with Dr, Shenker knowing he could improve my appearance and improve my confidence with this surgery. Recovery was much quicker than I had anticipated. I hired a PSW to stay with me for the first 24 hours and to check in on me for the first week. If you are going to put up the money for the surgery, might as well splurge on recovery. Cut to three months later and my tummy is flatter than it's ever been. My scar is very straight! I thought it would be a little "wonky" but it looks great. A few massages have helped loosen up the scar tissue. Dr. Shenker gave me the cutest belly button too! My breasts are so natural looking for my body that nobody can tell I've had surgery to correct them. I couldn't be happier with my results, or with my decision to have Dr. Shenker work his magic on me. If you are even considering a surgical procedure, Dr. Shenker should be top of your list!
I have been seeing Majeed at the Cosmetic Surgery Clinic in Waterloo for several years now. As always, I am exceptionally please with my results! Majeed is truly an artist with a very delicate touch (I never have bruising with him, but have had with many other injectors over the years). This time majeed recommended I try Dysport - I was a bit hesitant as I have been having Botox for the past 20 years, and was worried I wouldn't like it as much, however I am very pleased with it. Everything looks great, forehead wrinkles are smoothed and lines around eyes are also gone. Majeed is gentle, kind hearted, and always takes the time to explain what he is doing. He really listens to what you are looking for and aims to please. A+ experience, as always.
Based on the photos shown, you have lateral implant malposition, meaning your implants are too far out to the side and under your arm. The implant pocket was either made too big in the first place, or the implants have dissected their way out to that area. How long have you had your implants? Are they saline or silicon? That makes a difference. Saline implants are much more likely to do this then cohesive silicone gel implants. You also have bottoming out of your implants. That means the implants have stretched out the pocket and are now sitting too low. If you were my patient I would remove your implants and do a entire pocket redesign making the outside part less roomy as well as the bottom part. The procedure would also very likely require the removal of some of the stretched out skin on the lower part of the breast. Finally, I would almost certainly augment the upper and cleavage part of the breast using some fat taken from your tummy or thighs. You may or may not also need a different implant depending on your goals.I hope this helps! Dr Robert shenker MD frcsc medical director at the Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
Your concern is a very common one. At the Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, one of the solutions we have found is to choose a suitable breast implant to suit your frame, your breast size, the composition of your breast parenchyma etc. However, once the implant is in, we routinely augment the cleavage area and sometimes even the upper pole of the breast using autologous fat transfer. That means we take fat from some area of your body, usually the abdomen or thighs, and use that fat to build up the areas of interest. We can therefore achieve a nice full upper pole, or very full cleavage without choosing an implant that's too big just because we wanted to reach the cleavage area. It works great and it has the added benefit of providing our patients with a little bit of liposuction if they want that as well. I hope this helps! The information written on your implant card should accurately reflect what was actually done in the operating room. If the implant stickers say the implants are 425cc, then that is probably what they are.Saline implants can be "overfilled" , but the maximum overfill range is usually about 50 cc. Taking a 425cc implant up to 600cc would be a bit unusual, in my opinion. Also, as the volume increases with overfilling, the base width of the implant decreases. So while the volume in your implants may actually be 600cc, the overall shape of a 425 cc implant filled to 600cc is NOT the same as a 600cc implant filled to 600cc.The biggest issue in this case is that you seem to have lost trust in your surgeon. That is a problem no amount of saline can fix.I hope this helps!Dr. Robert Shenker MD FRCSC Medical Director, The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
Combining breast lift surgery with fat transfer is a great procedure. We do it all the time. Its best for people like you, who really do not want breast implants. It's important to know the back the volume transferred can never give you as much size as an implant would, but for many people that's not an issue. It's also important to understand that sometimes not all of the fat that gets transferred stays long term. It's best to expect about a 10% to 20% decrease in size over time. Sometimes, the fat transfer procedure needs to be repeated so that you can get to the size, shape and volume you really want.Combining the two procedures at once is certainly possible. While it can be done in two separate sessions, most of the time that's not necessary. I hope this helps! Dr. Robert Shenker MD FRCSC Medical Director, The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
After looking at your photographs, and looking at your overall body shape and size, it is pretty clear that you have bilateral gynecomastia. This is a very common problem and the surgical solution is simple. This is one of the most common operations we do at our clinic. In fact, I did two cases today!Make sure that when you see a plastic surgeon, he or she is a well trained, board certified plastic surgeon who has experience in this area. If that's the case, you are very likely to have a good experience and come out with an excellent looking chest. I hope this helps!
