How many Voluma syringes are typically used in the nose?

I am looking to enhance my nose bridge as well as the tip of my nose and was wondering if I could get the job done with 1 syringe of voluma filler, or does it normally take two?

Hi and thanks for your question. The Non Surgical Nose Job procedure generally requires less than one syringe of Voluma. Lifting the bridge and tip requires a filler with the thickness of Voluma, so this is the best choice for the nose. Using a softer or lighter filler runs the risk that you would not get the lift and definition that you desire. The bonus to using Voluma is that it lasts for a year to a year and a half and is fully reversible if necessary. I wouldn’t use Voluma in the nose because its formulation is too thick and more rigid than some of the other hyaluronic-acid based fillers. My choices would be either Juvederm or Restylane. You really don’t want to add much volume to the nose, so one syringe or less should be plenty. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who can prove his or her expertise in this area, because it requires skill and a highly developed sense of aesthetics.

Voluma is a very effective filler but is too thick or dense to be used in the nose. My preference is Restylane and it rarely takes more than one syringe unless the bridge is very flat as in some ethnicities. Most often we use much less than one syringe and use the remainder in another area if it is appropriate.

Thank you for your question. I use something a little lighter in the nose - something like either Restylane or Juvederm. My guess is that you wouldn't need more than 1 syringe. If you do, chances are you're not a great candidate for this procedure to start - and you may be happier by getting a formal rhinoplasty. I would ask your injector prior to the procedure so you can get a better sense of cost. Best of luck!

I prefer Restylane and Restylane Lyft when treating the face. Whatever the filler maybe, I would start with 1 syringe and add more as needed at followup. Most patients will not need more than 1 syringe.
