Transgender woman, wondering if my breasts are too far apart due to fault of surgeon?

It is difficult to four days postoperative to determine the final result one's breast augmentation would be. But for sure, if you feel you is too far apart, discuss this with your surgeon. He or she may recommend a spandex band that can hold implants closer. Special issues include tight chest skin and larger pectoralis muscles. However, it is wise to discuss this with your surgeon early on. Do remember, it takes about 4 to 6 months on average to see the results which may be far different than the early swollen and tight conditions.

Thank you for your question and picturesYour breasts are a bit far apart BUT were placed rightly centrally under the nipple-areolar complex.Larger implants, wider, would help in closing the gap centrally.It is not always feasible to go very large in the first setting in transgender females as the skin to tight, and this is more so when implants are placed under the pectoral muscles. Allow a bit of time for skin expansion and perhaps you consider going 100-200cc bigger and wider implants.Hope this helps!Dr. Marc DuPere, aesthetic plastic surgeon
