Dear Catherine, Different surgeons have different policy in regard to return to work and you should consult with your surgeon and follow his or her's recommendation. Quite a few of my breasts augmentation patients are hair stylists. For that type of work, I allow my patients to return to work, once they stop taking the narcotic pain medications - usually after 2-3 days. However, they have to be careful and avoid any weight lifting or strenuous activity, which most of them are able to do. Implants displacement massage that starts on the 3rd day after surgery, helps significantly with the ease of motion of the arms. After 2 weeks, my patients can do light exercise and light lifting, One month after surgery, all restriction are removed. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery , to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder
Thank you for your question. I think one week off work would suffice but I would recommend that you only work half days for the first week after you return to work.Best of luck,
Thanks for your question. It is best to get your surgeon's recommendations for this. Assuming there are no post-op complications, you could be ready for work about a week post-operation. Every patient is different which is why they should consult their surgeon about recovery time. All the best,Dr. JSB
Hello Most women can resume hairstyling work within a week post breast augmentation. Every woman has a different pain threshold and this time period may vary.
Hello, most of my breast augmentation patients who are hairstylists return to work within 6-7 days of surgery since this work usually does not involve heavy lifting. If you do have any activities at work that require some heavier lifting I would recommend modified duties for at least 4 weeks.
I would consider taking a week off and taking things easy. I would then recommend easing back into your job routine with the least strenuous routines first. I would avoid anything that requires hey lifting or a lot of strenuous activity for a good four to six weeks.
Hello catherinels. Thanks for your question. I recommend more time off for my patients who are also hairstylists. You should see what your plastic surgeon recommends. Best, Dr. ALDO
My practice specializes in breast augmentation. After 16 years, 4000 implants, co investigator on FDA studies, gummy bear experience of 10 years and over 900 placed. My routine, because of technique and care is 48 hours back to work and working out.
Two weeks sounds like plenty of time to recover from breast augmentation. most patients are off their medications in one week.
While this is not definitive for everyone, you might want to consider two weeks because of the vigorous movements that you do at work. Best to ask your surgeon.
I think you are correct and since you are only about 3 weeks out I would try some scar creams and silicone sheets to see if I could get it to settle down. Also pressure from your bra starp will help.
It is most likely a side effect of a medication you have been prescribed or the cleaning prep utilized during your surgery. Very often itchiness can be seen with some pain medications and resolves once it is stopped. I would discuss your symptoms with your surgeon. They...
Increasing the dose of spironolactone from 50 mg per day to 100 mg per day is not unusual for acne. In some women it causes (water) weight loss and doesn't affect breast size, but every person varies as you point out some, including you, have witnessed breast growth. That is why it is a good...
