I had rhinoplasty 3 months ago. There was a complication and now the front view of my nose is crooked/assymetric and ruined to say the least. I spent years saving up for this surgery and now I have no money to fix this horrible botched job. I need a revision so bad. Do surgeons ever refund this money? I'm just so hopeless right now. I regret surgery so much, all it did was make me depressed and 1000x more insecure. I payed for this to happen to me.. I get complications happen but it just sucks.
Answer: Crooked asymmetric nose after rhinoplasty Considering you are only 3 months out from surgery, I would beg you to be patient. Significant changes can occur during the first year of healing after a rhinoplasty. I would recommend firm, but gentle pressure on the nose. You can definitely cause a mildly crooked nose to straighten using this technique. You can also apply pressure on each side of a wide tip to help create a thinner, more harmonious tip. I would recommend you discuss your concerns with your surgeon and try to work this out.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Plastic SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers

Answer: Try to be patient Hello. I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time with your nose. Regarding money, that is something you are going to have to discuss with your surgeons. We all conduct our practices differently. But for now, the most important thing you can do is be patient and wait until all the swelling is gone before you judge your surgical result.

Answer: 3 months post op, some advices: Thank you very much for enquire. It's too early to make value judgments with only 3 months after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity. In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months. To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Refunding money Dear alli_104, Thank you for your clinical post and photograph. For the most part unless there are other circumstances most plastic surgeons do not refund surgical fees when a complication occurs that is repairable. If the complication such as your displaced lateral nasal bone can be fixed then there’s often no charge enhancement surgery, but rarely does a plastic surgeon refund money. I would focus on visiting with your plastic surgeon outlining the concern with the inwardly displaced nasal bone and discuss enhancement surgery where this could be addressed and corrected. If you’ve lost confidence with your plastic surgeon then seek out the expertise of a plastic surgeon and nasal plastic surgeon with extensive head and neck experience. I hope this information is of some assistance and best of luck. To find out more, please visit the link below. R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto
