Steroid injection post rhinopseptoplasty-has something gone wrong? (Photo)

Question

I had a steroid injection post rhinoplasIty. The swelling from it went down by day five, except for a persistent hard lump on my bridge. My doctor said I could mould my nose a bit with it and gave me an exercise to do to help tip. Has the steroid affected the bridge and moulded it permanently like this? It still feels a bit weird. I can push/massage it down a little but it comes back soon after. I'm not really sure what to do- hope it's just prolonged swelling. I can definitely feel this lump.

It is not uncommon especially in thicker skin to develop some hard knots or lumps or thickened scar tissue after a rhinoplasty procedure. Steroid injections typically help to minimize and improve that problem. That being said, it is not uncommon to require additional injections for maximal improvement. I would discuss this with your rhinoplasty surgeon.

Cortisone injections soften hard lumps and can help atrophy the tissues. You may need a little more since there is a persistent lump.Recheck with your doctor.
