One of my eyes is further up and over than the other, and I have a deviated septum that makes it hard to breathe on the right side (left in the photo). Would rhinoplasty make the asymmetry with my eyes appear worse? What would bring the best sense of balance to my face?
Answer: Closed rhinoplasty, some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us.In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

CONTACT NOW Answer: #deviatedseptum and asymmetric eyes You posted photos show an oblique deviation of the septum, inward displacement of the right upper lateral nose cartilage, downward displacement of the lateral canthi and smaller eyeball and bones on the left side of your face. I don't think a rhinoplasty to improve breathing and nasal symmetry will have any effect on the appearance of your eyes or cheeks. It is much easier to do surgery and obtain reliable results on the nose compared to surgery on the eyes or cheeks in your case.I hope you realize that this format of posting questions and receiving answers lacks the face to face direct communication required for you to make an informed decision regarding your surgery. My response to your question/post does not represent formal medical advice or constitute a doctor patient relationship. You need to consult with i.e. personally see a board certified plastic surgeon in order to receive a formal evaluation and develop a doctor patient relationship in order to know if this assessment is valid.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for crooked nose, septoplasty for breathing A septoplasty will not straighten a crooked nose. A septoplasty is performed in the back of the nose to improve air flow through it, once medical necessity has been documented at the time of examination. A rhinoplasty can accomplish straightening the crooked nose with osteotomies and a spreader graft composed of the patient's own cartilage placed underneath the concave upper lateral cartilage in the midportion of the nose. For many examples of rhinoplasty for the crooked nose, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Nasal deviation causing eye asymmetry These kinds of things always require an in-office consult along with standard photos to really see everything and appreciate the ratios. Your nose does appear to deviate to the left, which can cause the optical illusion that your right eye is actually more "up and out" than the left. So, after seeing you in the office, a PS would likely recommend rhinoplasty first to fix the deviation. I wouldn't do anything to the eyes for several reasons, but one of them is because you don't want to create to many moving targets. Fix the nose and get it centered, then reevaluate. I think that will be all you end up needing.
