From the photos, your columella is a bit retracted and the tip is a little droopy. These things can be improved with rhinoplasty. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.
The philtral collumns Extend from the cupid's bow portion of your upper lip to the base of your nose. These do not appear to be short. In that regard, you should have significant dissatisfaction with the appearance of your nose to consider rhinoplasty surgery. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a Rhinoplasty with tip elevation, tip refinement, dorsal hump reduction, and nasal tip deprojection. Doing these maneuvers would help make the philtrum look more normal also. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. At the time of rhinoplasty, the medial crura can be brought together to narrow the width of the columella and give you increased appearance in length.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
I don’t consider you to have a shirt philtrum and your nose looks fine to me. But you can always go on some consults to get other opinions
Based on these photos your philtrum seems to be within normal limits. Rhinoplasty will not change that. Good luck.
Dear Nice,I'm not really sure what a "short/receded philtrum" is, but rhinoplasty is probably not the answer. Fillers, or a nasal spine implant may be what you are looking for. From the photos your upper lip appears to a slightly elongated proportion. So, a lip lift might be in order. Examination by a board certified plastic surgeon will help to define the issues and solutions. Good luck!
You could consider upper lip lengthening procedures which an be done surgically or with Botox. I don’t think nasal surgery is going to do much for your upper lip.
To make an assessment we need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask your provider to forward the pictures they took. We can’t really make quality assessment based on the information provided. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
