Can this be corrected? (Photo)

Question

I received a blow to the nose as I bent forward and my 4 year up head butted me. I don’t have any breakage to the bridge of my nose, but possibly cartilage on the side close to the tip. I also had a bump at the base of my right nostril where I can possibly feel where the break occurred. Can this be straightened out surgically or non surgically? Looking for straightness and probably bridge of nose to be less prominent.

We can see from the base view of your nose that you tip veers off to your right side. On front view, you also appear to have a somewhat wide and asymmetrical nasal appearance. On profile, you appear to have a bit of an overprojected nasal tip appearance. Most of these issues may be addressed with well-performed rhinoplasty surgery. As far as I can see from your photos the most definitive and permanent solution for this is rhinoplasty operation, which can make your nose flatter and proportional to your face with a single operation. For get rid of this image I recommend you rhinoplasty surgery.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. There are several subtle asymmetries of the nasal bridge and tip that I suspect predated the injury. These may have been amplified by the injury or just made noticeable because of the attention that followed. If you examine your passport photographs prior to the injury, you will probably notice that the direction of the nasal bridge is slightly off the ideal and that the contour of the tip cartilages is slightly rotated.

All these aspects, including a reduction in the bridge projection, can be addressed with a rhinoplasty intervention, whether through an open-tip access or a closed approach. It is generally valuable to include computer imaging and simulations in the planning phase to help you determine the shape you wish to achieve. While the outcome of surgery is always different from computer simulations, these simulations make it easier to have a common vision about the desired changes between the patient and surgeon.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your nose would include dorsal hump reduction, nasal tip deprojection, tip refinement, and improving the symmetry of your tip.  With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
