Is my purple butt fixable? (Photo)

Hi Dr. I am desperate to find a fix for my purple butt. A couple of years ago I've had butt injections from a lady that is now nowhere to be found. She claims it was PMMA hydrogel that was injected and about a year ago I've noticed discolouration on the injected areas. A dermatologist told me it my skin was inflamed and needed to restore the skin with microneedling. Now my ass has two big purple circles. What is it ? Is it fixable? Please help !!!

Thank you for your question regarding what to do about your discolored buttock after illegal PMMA injections. Unfortunately, what you are describing is not an uncommon problem worldwide. Unfortunately, many people go to illegal injectors who are injecting many different types of foreign bodies including silicone, PMMA, crazy glue, cement, etc. Since you are having skin problems, I would suggest you have this product removed as soon as possible. In my opinion, micro-needling will do nothing for your butt skin. The reason your skin is discolored is your body is trying to reject the underlying PMMA. First, your body forms scar tissue around the PMMA. Once the PPMA is isolated, then your body tries to reject the foreign body by breaking.
down the skin to allow a path for the PMMA to be ejected. Therefore, you do not need the skintreated, rather, you need the PMMA removed. I would suggest either Ultrasound-guided VASERAssisted Liposuction or direct excision. Since this is a fairly large procedure, please seek anexperienced board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience in removing PMMAfrom the buttock. Travel out-of-state if you must.Before you make any decisions regarding an unknown substance removal, I would suggest you seek consultation with an expert. Hi Kay_Sweetness and thank you for your question and supporting photo. The discoloration that you are experiencing is likely a direct result of the infiltration of the free silicone/biopolymer buttock injections through the soft tissue of the buttocks. More often than not, the non-FDA approved and illicit nature of these injections are not disclosed to patients at the time of consultation or injection and unfortunately these free silicone/biopolymer injections compromise the health of the soft tissues in the areas in which it is injected which causes discoloration of the skin. This discoloration can progressively worsen over time if left untreated. 
As a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in New York who specializes in removal of these illicit silicone/biopolymer injections, I have seen this discoloration significantly improve after removal of the injected material and the compromised and unhealthy soft tissue affected by this product. I have even seen this discoloration disappear in certain cases.
If you have not already done so, please consider scheduling a virtual or in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in silicone/biopolymer injection removal. I perform removal of these injections from the buttocks via a staged surgical excision, utilizing a patient insurance benefits, in the hospital setting. A consultation would be an ideal time to review your medical history, your injection history, your current symptoms related to these injections and a plan for the best medical and surgical approach to addressing your symptoms and concerns.
