Should I be looking for silicone butt injection removal?

Question

So i got silicone butt injections 8 years ago & i have never had any complications.. i have had a baby and i'm currently pregnant again. However i seen online that a woman who got silicone injections from the same people that i went to is now hospitalized because the silicone has migrated up her back and she is in severe pain needing emergency surgery. She had the surgery done around the same time as me. Should I be scared? Should I look into removal or editing?

Before you start to have problems, I would suggest removal of butt silicone immediately.  Before you make any decisions regarding silicone butt removal I would suggest you seek consultation with an expert. Please seek an experienced, board-certified, plastic surgeon.  Travel out of state if you must to find such a silicone removal expert. This is a unique condition that has not been studied in the medical community. So no one will be able to answer you with any certainty as to whether or not you too, will develop symptoms. I have seen patients in my practice that begin experiencing symptoms just weeks or months after injection. Others don't see symptoms until 20+ years after injection. What I have seen to be true is that once symptoms present, they only get worse.

I have taken care of many patients in the Dallas area and beyond who have had silicone injections to the buttocks and other locations.  Unfortunately, free silicone progresses to scarring, silicone granulomas and infections in the vast majority of patients.  The fact that you have made it so long without complications is good, but I would recommend a consultation with a plastic surgeon consistently to monitor the areas injected.  Surgery is delayed until after a pregnancy in the majority of cases.
