Hello there. Thank you for sharing with the physician community. Based on your photo only, I would say that you are not a candidate for a "minilift'. I say this simply because you have too much skin laxity in the upper and mid neck regions. A minilift traditionally will do a great job tightening the jawline and upper one third of the neck. Based on your picture I feel you would need more. In our practice, I would recommend a standard lower facelift/necklift (with incisions behind the ears). This approach would adequately address the overall laxity of the neck skin and muscle. Additionally, I would probably remove any fat under your chin and possibly tighten the muscle under the chin as well. Depending on your surgeon, this can all be performed under local anesthesia in the office. Good luck!
"A combination approach would give the most improvement. Nonsurgical options such as Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, and Ultherapy do well in combination for skin tightening, but the results are mild compared to surgical options.I would recommend a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma) and InMode BodyTite to contour and tighten the chin and neck. A neck lift can be performed at the same time, if you're a good candidate. I suggest seeing a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist to develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer."
A mini lift typically does not dissect into the neck. The results in the neck after a mini lift can be very nice in the beginning, but tend to relapse early. For this reason, I recommend a full facelift in patients who are concerned with excess neck skin or fullness. A full facelift will dissect into the neck, tighten the platysma muscles and give a long lasting correction in this area, as well as the other areas treated.
Thanks for posting your photo. In my opinion a mini lift would not be adequate to address the loos skin of the neck. I would advise a neck lift and/or lower facelift to get the desired results. Please consult with several board certified experienced surgeons.
For the pictures that you post. The cordsthat you see in your neck need to be corrected with the work in the Platysmamuscle and also the looseness in your neck need to be corrected with the skin removal. This to steps are done at the same time andduring the Neck Lift operation.
I recommend combination of face and neck tightening, face lift alone might not improve the neck issue that you are concerned about. good luck!
A lower face/neck lift done under local would make a great improvement for roughly $9800 on special and be easy to undergo.
Thanks for your post. I would agree w/ the other surgeons here that, if your primary complaint is excess skin in your neck area, the mini facelift procedures may not meet your goals. I do like to add skin-tightening procedures w/ my mini facelifts (chemical peel, laser treatments, laser-liposuction, etc.) to help deal w/ small degrees of skin excess. But, those results are limited. I would think about it and let your surgeon know if you are more bothered by your neck skin. Good luck
To tighten the neck would require a neck lift and platysma plasty. Mini-facelift does not tighten the neck. Other option if you need a facelift is a SMAS face lift which includes the neck work.
Hi, based upon the attached photo there seems to be minimal "jowls" with excess neck skin that is quite wrinkled and is mostly directly below the chin. While some form of topical skin tightening may tighten the skin a few mm's, direct excision of the skin can be performed through an incision hidden underneath the chin. This is part of our short-incision facelift which is our most popular facelift. This the minimally invasive facelift has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits:very small incisionsminimal tissue dissection = less bruising and swelling = rapid recoverycan be performed in 90 minutes or less, with or without general anesthesiano incisions within the hair = no hair lossexcess fat can be removedexcess skin removedcheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Perlane) or facial implantsmost patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-opHope this helps.
In our practice, we perform a non-surgical face lift / skin resurfacing treatment using Renuvion Helium Plasma Radiofrequency. To get the most improvement with skin tightening, we combine Renuvion (formerly J-Plasma) with lasers (Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, CO2), microneedling/PRP, Ultherapy a...
When permanent sutures are used for a facelift it is possible to for them to become noticeable and show through the skin. It could be a result of your body's immune system response to the suture material or just a tale of the suture showing through the skin. This situation does not...
FaceTite can internally tighten the skin in the lower face and neck. After all the skin has been heated and contracted, we shape the neck with liposuction to give definition and remove stubborn pockets of fat. In one quick treatment, we can tighten skin, remove fat, and contour the lower face,...
Thank you for your question. There are both surgical and non-surgical approaches to addressing nasolabial folds. Injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can add volume to this area to reduce the appearance of the lines you’re referring to. A facelift procedure can address deep nasolabial f...
Make sure your surgeon knows about your smoking. He/she can then advise you regarding his/her preference for how long to be off of cigarettes and possibly adjust the surgical plan. I typically have my patients off of cigarettes and all products that contain nicotine for 6-8 weeks before a f...
