How customizable is a brow lift? (Photo)

The brow is adhered to the skull to it needs to be released to reliably move it. Threads and fillers are very temporary and usually lose their effect in a couple weeks. The best way to change the brow position is with an endoscopic browlift. With a proper procedure the entire brow is released so it can move up and reseal to the skull. Typically, the lateral portion is raised more than the medial portion so result is aesthetically pleasing. It's possible that upper lid blepharoplasty may be needed for an ideal result. A lateral browlift may make some difference, but it's not as good because the brow typically moves as one unit. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

Hello, the short answer is "YES". The lateral ("outer") brow is lifted with a procedure called a temporal or lateral brow lift. This is the most common type of brow lift that I perform in my practice. It can be done under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. I would strongly caution against using threads or filler to try to achieve the results you are looking for.

Without photographs, it is difficult to say with certainty what procedure would be optimal to treat the hooding of your brows. However, in general there are multiple different surgical approaches to achieve a brow lift - many of which target the lateral brow specifically. I would recommend you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who will be able to assess your brow position and will be able to give you surgical recommendations based off your physical exam and your specific goals.

If you do not need a central brow lift then it is possible to do the brow lift laterally to pull up the lateral portion of the eyebrows and your peri-orbital region. This is more of a mid face lift to customize the result you desire.

A full set of facial and eyebrow and eyelid photographs are required to make a determination about how best to proceed since you're talking about two different procedures and many different issues. A brow lift is customizable, which includes variables, such as placement of the incision to either raise or lower the hairline, softening the corrugator and frontalis muscles, lifting the brows more centrally versus more laterally, and placement of fascia grafts when there's dermal atrophy between the eyebrows. Also depends on how low your eyebrows are set versus their relationship with your eyelids.
