I’ve always felt like my eye area looks quite heavy however I’m not sure if I need a brow lift or an upper bleph. I’ve also heard that endoscopic brow lifts don’t last long in younger patients is this true? Are there any other options for me other than botox?
Answer: Brow lift The advantage of an open brow lift is that it can lower the hairline, decrease the vertical height of the forehead, pull up the eyebrows and the results are permanent. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Upper Eye Heaviness Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. At 22, if you're noticing heaviness around your eye area, it's understandable to be uncertain about whether a brow lift or an upper blepharoplasty (bleph) would be more appropriate. A brow lift, including endoscopic techniques, can address sagging eyebrows and upper eyelids by repositioning the brow and tightening the skin. However, there is some concern that endoscopic brow lifts might not have the same longevity in younger patients as in older ones, potentially due to more resilient skin and muscle tone. On the other hand, an upper blepharoplasty targets excess skin and fat directly on the eyelids, which might be a more straightforward solution if your main concern is redundant upper eyelid skin rather than brow position. In addition to these surgical options, non-invasive alternatives could be considered. Radiofrequency treatments can help stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin in the eye area without the need for surgery. Additionally, fillers can be used strategically to add volume and support to the brow and eyelid area, which might reduce the appearance of heaviness. I hope this helps and best of luck!
