It's still so long and big! Is this just swelling?

I had revision septorhinoplasty 19 days ago, with work on my tip and nostril using ear catrtilagd grafts and scalp fascia. My PS and I had discussed lowering my bridge so my nose wouldn't be as "tall", but after I got out of surgery he let me know he didn't touch my bridge (no explanation as to why and I was too drugged up to question it). Now, looking at my nose, I'm so unhappy with how big it looks. Is this simply swelling, or is this likely how tall/projected it will remain?

I’m sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the results from your rhinoplasty. Given the timeline, since your surgery was only 19 days ago, it’s likely that swelling is contributing to the concerns that you mentioned. Your nose has been through trauma during your initial procedure and again recently during your revision septo/rhinoplasty. Revision surgeries are often more complex as there is pre-existing scar tissue from the first rhinoplasty, which can result in more swelling. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to focus on the size of your nose right now. I tell my revision rhinoplasty patients that it can take 1-2 years for the internal swelling to go down (that’s not to say that external healing won’t happen sooner). After waiting at least a year, the nose will begin to settle into place as the internal swelling subsides. In the meantime try to have patience and allow your body time it needs to heal.
