I had revision rhino a 1.5 yrs ago where a radix graft and shield graft were used with ear cartilage. From cast removal I hated it. I thought my nose looked too high and "fake" and the tip looks clownish. I waited a year for swelling to go down and my feelings were the same the entire year...I hated it. I had a revision 3 months ago and I wanted grafts removed but was told it might look worse so they were adjusted only. I still hate it and want ALL grafts removed. Is this possible?
Answer: Want my old nose back. Is this possible? Dear Looking for hopeMy suggestion would be to discuss with your surgeon your appearance goals and let them help you with the technical aspects. It is often possible to make many of the desired changes to a nose but like any plan, for a high probability of success, you need to have clear goals with your surgeon. Digital imaging is generally very helpful.

Answer: Unhappy with nose It is challenging to give specific advice without seeing your photographs from before the first procedure, after the first procedure and now. Removing "all the grafts" may not be the best solution. I would not consider any additional procedure for at least three more months, and waiting a full year after the most recent procedure is likely the best advice. It would take a detailed consultation to see exactly what you are hoping for, and then a very precise examination of the existing state of your nasal anatomy during a revision procedure to determine what needs to be done to get you as close to your goal as possible. You may well need additional grafts, possibly from your ear, or even a rib. Best wishes on acheiving your goal.

Answer: Want my old nose back. Is this possible. I am very sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with your rhinoplasty result. Without photos and a operative report of the exact treatment performed, it is impossible for anyone to give you specific advice. You arealready aware that revision nasal surgery requires a significant waiting period to allow for completion ofhealing and resolution of edema (swelling). To me the more important factor to consider is your presentrelationship & level of trust in your plastic surgeon. If you have a good working relationship with your presentsurgeon, there is simply no one else who knows your nasal anatomy better. If not, You should considerusing this healing time to actively research an alternative provider in your area. Unfortunately, this is thebest advice that I can give. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Want my old nose back. Is this possible? Hi and thanks for your question. I am sorry to hear about your problems. Any revision rhinoplasty should be delayed at least one year. I would seek out a surgeon who is very experienced in rhinoplasty and address your concerns to that person. Without photos and a personal consultation it really isn't possible to give you any advice that would be meaningful. That's my advice after 30 plus years doing this operation. Best of luck!Richard Chaffoo, MD, FACS, FICSTriple Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
