I am 36 with spinal muscular atrophy, very interested in the fashion and beauty industry and them starting my own business therein. I'm mostly height weight proportional, but I do have some problem areas, such as my abdomen. I have had one consultation in which I was told that my abdomen was distended because of my disability and that while a tummy tuck may normally be advised, it would be risky as I already have a 40% of normal lung capacity. Does anyone have experience with this?

Swelling after tummy tuck often worse after 2-3 days than initially, and swelling in the pubic region is normal. Unless you become unable to urinate, or there are signs of infection (redness, fever, increasing pain), I would not be concerned. It all sounds normal.
