Would lip fillers suit my lips/face and should I just get filler in the body of the lip? (Photos)

As  if I want to avoid the fake, duck lips look? I want to get filler in my lips but am nervous about it looking unnatural/duck like. I've noticed when too much filler is injected in the vermillion border it gives this unnatural look. Would fillers suit my face/lip shape? And do I need injections in the vermillion border or just the body?

Hi there! Thank you for your question. Lip fillers do sometimes get a reputation of producing ‘duck lips’ but in the right hands this treatment should enhance your lips whilst maintaining natural looking results. The most important thing to do is to visit a highly trained and experienced injector- they should assess your lips in consultation, discuss desired results and know where best to place filler. I would usually recommend beginning with 0.5ml of product in the body of the lips and building upon this if necessary.

You appear to be a good candidate for lip filler. I recommend finding an injector who has had extensive training and experience injecting the lips. With proper placement and dosing, you should receive a nice result without the “duck lips” people often fear when seeking lip augmentation.

You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers. Volbella, Restylane, and Juvederm are good to create a symmetrical lip. NovaThreads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. Technique will be important here, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Dear Bride6xo,
I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times.
For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years.
In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.

Thank you for your question!  Lip augmentation with dermal fillers is a great option for achieving fuller, natural looking lips.  Selecting the right filler is important, but placement is the real key to achieving natural looking lips.  Some of my favorite fillers include Juvederm Ultra and Restylane, these fillers are reversible and have a smooth, soft consistency, which is great for lips!
Based on your photos, you would be an excellent candidate for non-surgical lip augmentation.  You already have a beautiful shape to your lips, applying a small amount to the body of your upper and lower lip will help smooth out any wrinkling as well as give you beautiful natural results.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on your photos I believe you are a great candidate for lip augmentation with filler. 
One syringe of Juvederm XC will give you very natural, subtle changes after it has completely healed. If you are trying to avoid an unnatural look I recommend filling in the pink part of the lip and keeping your same shape which will add more volume but maintain your same overall appearance.

It is best to visit with an experienced injector for a consultation to determine the best approach to meet your goals.  From your photos it appears you would have a nice enhancement with filler to the body of the lips.  There are several fillers that can be used to give a natural enhancement without the fake, overdone look.

It's difficult to say if the lips will match your face because you did not submit a photograph of your face but just the lower portion of the face with the lips in the center. It appears that you may benefit from having your lower lip enlarged in order to match proportionally your upper lip, as well as you need improved symmetry in the upper lip.
