Hello, after an uncomplicated rhinoplasty, your nose should not shrink forever and turn into MJ's nose. It take about a year for the swelling "shrinking" to subside. Good Luck.
Following rhinoplasty, the nose will continue to change over the course of up to one year. After this point, the nose will not likely change further, other than natural aging. Consult with a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who will evaluate your nose, and develop a plan that is tailored to your individual needs. Best wishes!
Up to a year or so following rhinoplasty, swelling in the nose (especially the tip) will continue to subside, so during this time there may be subtle reductions in the size of the nose. Afterwards, if the surgery established proper bony and cartilaginous support, the nose should remain stable in size. Be sure to consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for an in-person examination and computer imaging to simulate the results of surgery. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. You will notice bruising/swelling after the rhinoplasty. The nose will continue to change over the next year, but it will not turn into Michael Jackson's nose. Best Wishes, Dr. Mentz
Noses don't necessarily 'shrink.' What happens post surgery is you have a lot of swelling. Typically swelling can last up to 3 months. The nasal tip being the last of the swelling to go down. I typically tell patients that your final product can take up to 1 year. A Michael Jackson nose occurred b/c of repeated rhinoplasty procedures and the destruction of the framework of the nose. Destruction meaning repeated manipulation and excision of cartilage. Good luck! -Dr. Miguel

Looking at your nose, you have a well defined smooth nasal bridge. however, the area that you say 'droops slightly' actually is because you don't have a well defined 'infratip' There should be a subtle gentle curve underneath your nasal tip to define what we call the 'infratip' rather yours is...
Composite nasal grafts are usually used for reconstruction either after an accident or skin cancer. I don't think it is a good idea for the cosmetic purposes you are considering.
