Why is my incision line black 5 weeks post BA? (Photo)

I had breast augmentation 5 weeks ago and my incision line is very dark/ black. It is not sore and appear to be almost fully healed, but I am concerned this will not go away! Help!

Your incision is obviously a little darker than desired.  However, there doesn't appear to be a problem.  In areas where the body sustains a trauma (for example, a BA incision), the natural response can be some extra pigment being deposited in the area.  Many times this will lighten on its own with time.  There are some lightening treatments that could provide some potential benefit.  The other features of you scar look good in that it is narrow and flat.  So, I don't think there is an underlying problem, and everything should lighten some more with time.

Your incision appears to be well-healed.  A dark red color could be treated successfully with Mepitac tape.  However if the incision is actually black it could be hyperpigmentation which would require skin bleaching agents or IPL treatments.
