Hello I had chin lipo two weeks ago and I am wondering how Much longer to wear the band for optimal results?

Thanks for the question, but the best person to ask would be your own provider. Every surgeon has a protocol they follow for liposuction recovery and that system is generally created after seeing what works best for the majority of their patients. While many surgeons have patients wear compression bands for two weeks or even longer, others don’t use the garments at all. Contact your surgeon to get the recommendations you should follow for your specific situation. Good luck and enjoy your liposuction results!

Each surgeon will have their own preference for how long they like their patients to wear a compression band after liposuction under the chin.  I would highly recommend that you contact your particular surgeon to find out how long you should be wearing your compression band.  I normally do not have my patients wear a compression garment after 2 weeks.  

So there are no efinitive studies to prove exactly how long one needs to wear a garment. Ideally someone would try to not use it at all and see if it made any difference. We are all acting on theoretic difference. For me I think the main thing it does is remind patients to not turn their neck as much.
I do one week on 24 hours a day then one week at night only. Then after that it depends on swelling etc. Hope that helps!

each plastic surgeon has their own protocol for postoperative care. It's inappropriate for us to tell you what to do after your procedure.  For my own patience I asked him to wear compression garments for two weeks. The second week is typically 12 hours on 12 hours off.  Contact your provider and do what he or she recommends.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
