Hello,Thank you for your enquiry. The photographic information is very helpful. It would be a good idea to discuss this with your dentist or maxillofacial surgeon first, since bite problems are usually corrected surgically with moving the jaw which will also alter the chin. If there is no need for surgery to correct the bite, a genioplasty might be a good option for you to bring the chin forward and downwards.
A genioplasty would not effect your bite, although if you go through with the procedure, you may need to leave your trays out for a day or two. You have a recessed chin, but a genioplasty would allow for your chin to be brought forward and angled in a way that would bring more balance to your profile.
Looking at the one image you provided your chin is clearly under projected. I don't see any other facial balance issues. Sliding genoplasty is an excellent way to restore facial balance. Done through the lower gums there is no external scar. Although there are some small titanium screws left to hold the bone, there is no future risk caused by an implant. Surgery takes about 1.5 hours and requires about 5 to 7 Days of recovery time.
It is not possible to answer your question without a full set of photos and x-rays. Find a board certified PS that has experience in jaw surgery. Good luck.

Dynamic changes such as smiling are difficult to treat. Sometimes botox injections are used to improve unwanted dynamic changes. In your case, the photos appear to show a prominent chin and a short lower facial height. Without the benefit of seeing your complete photo, you would likely benefit...
We generally do not add any bone graft to genioplasties. The bone will fill in and heal on its own within a few months. It will become fixed in place fairly quickly, but for the bone to be fully healed will take a little longer. We only use grafting material for larger advancements, and it is...
