Would Bellafil work for an atropic scar that didn't result from acne but rather trauma?

Scarring is a general pathway of healing that body pursues for certain types of skin injury and the usefulness of Bellafill in treatment of a scar depends more on the shape of the scar than its cause. Atrophic and pitted scars are generally good candidate for filler (included Bellafill) treatment but to be sure, you should see an experienced cosmetic doctor to examine the scars. Bellafill is a great permanent filler that can be used both for traumatic scars and atrophic acne scars. It is important to test the product 1-2 weeks before use to make sure there is no allergic reaction to the Collagen portion of it.
If you are worried I recommend that you consider using something like Restylane first. No one is allergic to it and it dissipates after one year. Once you know how your body responds to fillers you can consider more permanent options such as fat grafting or Bellafill.

Yes, Bellafill can be used to raise atrophic scars. Please understand that Bellafill will erase the depression of the scar but will not erase the scar itself. I would suggest a series of microneedling treatments with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) to soften the scar and make it less noticeable. 

Bellafill works very well on scars that flatten or smooth out when traction is placed on them.  It is FDA approved for acne scars, but actually can work on any scar with this characteristic.  This would be "off label" use, but it still works.  Best to seek out an injector experienced in scar treatments.  Best of luck.

It is perfectly fine to use in this situation. I have used Bellafill for this many times. It is an excellent choice for atrophic scars.

Bellafill works very well to fill in holes or depressions that are caused by scars of any origin as long as that scar is soft.  One way to tell if Bellafill will work is to stretch the surrounding skin out.  If you scar flattens out then a filler like Bellafill will be of benefit to you.I hope that helps.Best regards.
