Hi and thank you for your question! Bellafill is not recommend for injection into the lips as it can cause lumps and bumps there. The recommends fillers for lips are hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Ultra Plus, Restylane Lyft (Perlane), Volbella and Volume (for long-lasting results). Regardless, massaging is usually not required following Bellafill injection and some physicians recommend some gentle massaging while others don't, and in my opinion it shouldn't affect the results much. I hope it helps and good luck!
Thank you for your question. I suggest that you review the post op recovery care instructions with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. There will be a specific recovery plan that should inform your healing process. Best wishes,
I would not advise you to get Bellafill in your lips. If used for lips, then make sure that you have experienced injector. If not injected majestically it is harder to fix problems since Bellafill is semi-permanent. It lasts up to five years. After Bellafil treatment, provider will advise you to ice it, they will massage the area but you are not supposed to. Best of luck!
Hi,Thanks for the question. I personally don't like Bellafill in the lips. To me there are way better options available. Best of luck!

Bella fill is a simple in office treatment with minimal down time. It has amazing results that have immediate correction. When injecting, it is always good to ice up to 72 hours. Immediately after your Bella fill is injected in the desired area your injector will massage and work the product in. After treatment the patient will not want to massage area because the product is working on settling! I hope this helps you on your journey with Bella fill!:)
This is an "off label" but very effective and lasting filler for the lips. I usually work the material immediately after injection to get the result I want. I then have the patient leave it alone, using ice and head elevation to control bruising and swelling.
This is not recommended for the lips. It is possible that the filler becomes hard, clumps, or infected. In general, it is not recommended to massage fillers in the lips because you can move the filler around and move it to areas it was not intended to go. I would be very cautious with more Bellafill in lips.
Thank you for your question. Any chance you had Belotero (hyaluronic acid filler) injected rather than Bellafill? Bellafill is a long lasting filler that works great for the nasolabial folds and acne scars but not the lips or around the eyes. Typically I do not recommend massaging after filler as you may cause increased swelling and may displace the product. Best of luck,Suneel Chilukuri, M.D.Houston, Texas
Bellafill is a great filler for the lips in the right hands. Although many injectors shy away from using Bellafill in the lips, conservative lip injection can give wonderful results. Icing for a day after will help with bruising and swelling but there is no need to massage the areas of injection. I hope that helps and that you like your results. If so, make sure to write a review here on RealSelf to help other patients understand the benefits of this product.Best regards.
