Answer: Radiesse and Pain All the suggestions here have been great. I have never seen this and I inject a very large amount of Radiesse daily. I think you should get a second opinion and have your new physician obtain the chart notes from your previous procedure, just to ensure it was in fact Radiesse that was injected. If you are in this severe of pain and the area is tender, additional tests should be done before any procedures. This may include biopsies, cultures, CT scans ect. An antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication may help; sometimes adding gabapentin or lyrica are also useful. And as saline has been suggested for injection to "break apart" the Radiesse, I have found excellent results in cases referred to me in the past with a combination of either triamcinolone with hyaluronidase or 5-FU. In essence, you need a workup and need to be seen by someone who has experience in fillers. If in fact something more permanent was injected or you have a biofilm or ganulomatous reaction, there are various treatments available. I wish you the best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Pain after Radiesse Thank you for your question. Your symptoms after injection with Radiesse are very rare. It is possible that the filler is irritating a nerve in the region. While the filler cannot be completely dissolved, it is sometimes possible to soften the filler by injecting some saline in the area and applying massage. Regardless, fortunately the filler is a temporary product and I hope that with time, your symptoms improve.

Answer: Pain after Radiesse Thank you so much for your question. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. This sounds like a vascular occlusion of an artery at the site of the injection. This complication can lead to persistent pain, swelling and tissue death. It’s important to discuss this possibility with your doctor. We can help you if you like.

Answer: 4 months and I still have constant pain from #Radiesse filler. Is this normal? Not in my experience. Radiesse provides an outstanding level of volume replacement, and it has become my primary recommended filler. Please be sure that you have excluded possible infections or other sources of your symptoms. This is not typical for my experience.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of RealSelf100
