Depending on where your Radiesse was injected and if you are normally a person who bruises/swells, will dictate how long it will take for your swelling to go down after having your injections. Generally, swelling can go down in as little as one week and can linger up to three weeks. It will help the swelling to go down sooner to massage the area, eat fresh pineapple, take arnica Montana and/or bromelain.
I aways inform my patients after any filler injections that it takes up two weeks for any swelling to settle
I believe Radiesse is one of our best fillers & we have successfully used it for years. It contains calcium, a natural element, and is well accepted by the body. It is best used as a "deeper" filler, placed under skin, not into skin. We use it for jawline support, cheek augmentation and other facial locations. On the other hand we do not use it in lips or near the eyelids. There is always some temporary swelling which normally subsides in a couple of days. Be sure you select an experienced physician to help determine whether Radiesse is appropriate for you needs.
I tell all my patients who have had filler injections that swelling can last up to two weeks. I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.
Each patient will have different patient experience depending on the patient's specific situation and the skill/technique of the injector. The swelling will range from minimal to significant that can last a couple of weeks. Consult with your injector as he or she knows the scope of the treatment and the specifics about you.
Radiesse swells less than some if the hyaluronic acid fillers, and many patients do not notice it at all, although I can detect a little swelling for up to two weeks in my patients.
Swelling after any injectable treatment depends on a number of factors. All injectable treatments are associated with some swelling, which is to be expected. However, some patients and/or areas of the face tend to swell more than others. In my experience, swelling after Radiesse treatment tends to resolve in a number of days, but mild swelling persist for up to two weeks. Keep in mind that this can vary. And finally, it has been my experience that Radiesse tends to swell a bit more than other fillers (in the short term), especially in the cheeks -- this is a broad generalization, however, and is only based on my personal experience.
Swelling after Radiesse can last for a few weeks. In my experience, there tends to be a lot starting at about 24 hours post-injection, and that can last for a few days, and then it usually diminishes. At about two weeks the effects of the collagen generation are likely to become apparent, helping to produce and maintain the look.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of RealSelf100
The vermilion border can easily be better defined without adding significant volume. Seek a skilled injector as this is more important than the actual filler. Best filler is a hyaluronic acid filler, the exact one to choose is less significant than the injector's choice or skill.
MOST OF THE TIME YOU DO NOT GET HEADACHES FROM RADIESSE, BUT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE A SLIGHT ONE BUT SHOULD GO AWAY AND DEPENDING ON WHERE THE RADIESSE WAS INJECTED. IF THIS CONTINUES I WOULD DEFINATELY CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN
It is usually best to avoid dental work for at least a week after having fillers injected. This is for two reasons. The first is that a particular type of infection that is very difficult to treat callled biofilms has been reported which is apparently due to the inadvertent seeding of bacteria...
