In need of silicone implant removal ASAP. Just found out I'm pregnant!

if you are in the early stage of pregnancy, then it is better to avoid general anesthesia. If you don't have implant rupture, then there is no need to remove them ASAP. In some cases, it is possible to remove them under local anesthesia. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

This often happens; several of my patients have found out they were pregnant following the urine test on the morning of their scheduled surgery. The surgery, or course, had to be rescheduled months later as most board certified plastic surgeons will not perform cosmetic surgery on a pregnant patient.
I know of no evidence of increased risk of birth defects in babies born to mothers with breast implants. The implants remain stable during pregnancy while the breasts themselves change. Recommend that you postpone removal of the breast implants until all pregnancies are complete and you have stopped breastfeeding for six months. You do not want to risk the loss of sensation and breast ductal tissue preservation by removing the breast implants now.

Since you are pregnant, elective surgery is not recommended. Just wait until you deliver and finish breast feeding to see what size you are and then decide if you want to remove your implants.

General anesthesia is not recommended for pregnant patients in non-emergency situations. You may be able to discuss having the implants removed using local anesthetic with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.

If all you want is to remove the implants, not replace them, the procedure is easy. This can be done safely under a local anesthetic if you are pregnant. You can return to work the next day after this outpatient procedure.
