Am I candiate for a Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck? (photos)

Question

Female, 30, 5’1”, 135 lbs, birthed 2 children, highest weight previously 175 lbs. I have a tattoo the size of my fist and I am able to make my tattoo disappear by being completely covered by my other skin. I attached 2 photos when showing my skin covering my tattoo completely horizontally and vertically. Previous BBL. Would FDL be a good option for me or a different type? I want to make sure to get rid of the loose skin under my bra line also. Sorry if not good enough photos. Thank you.

Thank you for your history and the photos you provided. However, to give you a more accurate recommendation, I need better-quality photos. The photos you submitted are too close-up, making it difficult to assess your overall body contour and the extent of skin laxity.

Please submit photos taken from a bit further away that show your entire torso, including the areas you are concerned about under your bra line. Ideally, the photos should be taken from the front, side, and back. This will help me better understand your current body shape and determine if a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck is the best option for you or if another procedure might be more appropriate.

Typically, a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck is suitable for patients with significant vertical and horizontal skin laxity, which your history suggests might be the case.

Hello, the skin excess on your abdomen area is mostly on vertical vector, which a standard tummy tuck will help to fix. The skin excess for the horizontal vectors are fixed with FDL tummy tuck with a scar on the midline hard to cover with bikini or underwears. Your horizontal skin is not that much as I see from the photos. Physical examination can change the decisions but for these photos my recommendation is a standard tummy tuck with a little extended scar on the sides + liposuction. regards

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

It difficult to answer your question with zoomed in photos you shared, but it does appear that you may be a good candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. This can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on the exterior.   Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations.

An in person exam would really help determine ultimately what would work best for you, but judging from the photos you have sent I would say you are likely not at that point of requiring a FDL tummy tuck. With a traditional/regular tummy tuck, a good deal of the skin laxity will be addressed with the vertical pull of the skin.

You did not show a full view or any side views of your abdomen, so I would recommend meeting with a board-certified plastic surgeon, being examined, and discussing your options. You might do well with a tummy tuck or extended tuck and avoid the vertical scar.

An in person evaluation is best, but from the submitted photos you may be able to achieve nice results with a standard or extended tummy tuck and liposuction for contouring.  It doesn't appear that an FDL would be necessary in your case.

On your submitted photogralphs, I don't see many strech marks above your belly button.  In other words, your skin in the upper abdomen has good qulality.  Therefore, your don't need a FDL.   A tummy tuck plus lipo, like a lipotuck, would acheive nice contour.
