If I get my umbilical hernia removed, will it mess up my tummy tuck?

a small umbilical hernia is something that can be fixed during a full tummy tuck procedure. I routinely repair these during my tummy tuck procedures. Not everyone feels comfortably repairing these however. A mini-tummy tuck does not reset the umbilicus which it looks like is what you needed to get the results you were looking for. I would have to examine you to be certain.

Typically, umbilical hernia repair will not affect the tummy tuck results but previous umbilical scar which is created during traditional tummy tuck, does put your umbilicus (belly button) at higher risk for wound healing complications and possible belly button loss.

I would recommend an in person evaluation by your plastic surgeon and general surgeon to further discuss your questions and concerns.

No, most umbilical hernias can be repaired with the scope or will a small incision right in the umbilical area.

To repair an umbilical hernia the surgeon should be able to use the existing scar around the belly button from your tummy tuck. Your tummy tuck results should not be negatively impacted. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

It should not affect the tt to have an umbilical hernia repaired afterwards. Ask that the surgeon use the already existing incision around the umbilicus so you dont have any new scarring.

Before answering the question, I need to know where the hernia is and how big it is. Ultimately, if the hernia can be repaired laparoscopically, it will not interfere with your tummy tuck. Perhaps you could post some photos showing the location of the hernia.
