I work night shift as a nurse and was wondering exactly how much time should I be requesting off if I plan to do a mommy makeover? And is my employer entitled to know about this or can I keep it under radar?

Answer: Recovery time for mommy makeover Thank you for your question. Every patient heals differently. After mommy makeover surgery, patients may require anywhere between 2-6 weeks off, depending on the nature of their work. Employers may need to know about expected time off work and modified duties due to surgical recovery time; however, in our area, patient privacy laws restrict doctors from divulging the specific surgery unless granted permission by the patient. @yorkplasticsurgery

Answer: Recovery after Mommy Makeover The recovery period for a Mommy Makeover is entirely dependent on what procedures are performed. Although, the Mommy Makeover significantly shortens the recovery time for multiple procedures, the recovery time is still extensive and should not be underestimated. If you are considering a mommy makeover you need to be prepared for a considerable amount of surgery and an extensive recovery period. Although you might be feeling substantially better at 2-3 weeks, it is not uncommon to need anywhere from 4-6 weeks. You'll need to avoid heavy lifting if you have breast surgery, and possibly using core muscles and twisting if you have had the tummy tuck (which might be difficult to avoid if you are a nurse). I highly recommend that you book an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in order to discuss any concerns that you might have. That said, it's really important to follow any post-op guidelines recommended by your surgeon. It's also really important to allow your body to fully recover following the mommy makeover as this will ensure that you achieve the results that you were looking for.

Answer: Mommy Makeover Hi & thanks for your question.Typically for a mommy makeover you would need 2 to 3 weeks off work. You stated that you are a nurse, so I suggest taking 3 weeks. Your employer is not entitled to know the procedures you are having done. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best wishes!
